A man was shot and killed when the parking lot of a southeast Houston bar was sprayed with gunfire early today, police said.
The man, identified by Houston police as David Louis Davis, 55, of Pasadena, was in a pickup with his girlfriend leaving Mama Faye's Wink at 9210 Winkler, when someone opened fire in the parking lot.
The man was struck in the head by one of several shots fired. Police said his girlfriend, who was driving the pickup, drove about a mile before she realized he had been hit. She flagged down a wrecker driver and 911 was called. Paramedics pronounced Davis dead at the scene, at the intersection of Carsondale and Easthaven.
