The fire department responded to a report of a dumpster fire in the 3100 block of Bonnie Drive about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday and made the gruesome discovery, police said.

The bodies appear to be an unknown child, a young teenage or adult female, and an adult male.

The man was identified as 42-year-old David Lueras, known to frequent the Dallas area, and has ties to Hurst, Euless, and Bedford. Lueras has a long criminal history, according to court records.

Police added that the bodies were burned and heavily dismembered and some body parts are unaccounted for.

The dumpster was located on the tree lawn in front of a storage business. The dumpster was taken into custody as evidence and removed from the scene. All that remains is charred grass around the area where the dumpster was located.

Callers can remain anonymous by contacting CrimeStoppers at 817-469-8477.

The grass off Bonnie Drive is still charred from the fire where neighbors said the dumpster was located.

It was hauled off by police after the scene was cleared.

"There were two dozen people out here and cars all up and down the street, and people were in hazmat suits to climb into the dumpster and they borrowed a ladder to get in there and the firefighter helped to," recalled Andrew De Jong, who works nearby. "It is pretty tragic, but here is just hoping the detectives can get to the bottom of it."

The bodies were "burned and heavily dismembered," police said in a news release on Friday, adding there were "body parts unaccounted for."

Authorities have tentatively identified one of the bodies as 42-year-old David Lueras, who was "known to frequent the Dallas area" and "has some ties" to nearby communities, police said in the release Friday. The identity of the child is unknown, police said, and the third body is a "young teenage or adult female."

"The dismembered condition of the bodies is making the identification process difficult," police said in the news release.

Fort Worth firefighters responded to a report of a dumpster fire at 6:17 a.m. local time Wednesday outside a business on Bonnie Drive on the city's west side, about a mile south of Interstate 30, police said. Authorities found the bodies in the dumpster while extinguishing the fire, and the Fort Worth Police homicide unit responded to the scene.

The homicide unit is asking for the public's help and seeking any information on potential missing persons who might match the description of the victims.

Lueras is known to frequent the Dallas area and also has ties to Hurst, Euless, and Bedford areas, authorities said.

A Facebook page for Lueras reveals he is from Perris, California, and now lives in Dallas.

A person by the same name and age of Lueras, the only victim identified so far, previously pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine and theft over $1,500 in neighboring Dallas County, according to court records.

He was also charged with home burglary and fraudulent use of identifying information.

'Identifying the perpetrators and suspects of this triple murder is the primary goal of this investigation,' police said.

'Any information related to a missing person or persons fitting the description of the victims is appreciated.'

"I know that he was scared and I know he knew somebody was after him to get him," Lueras’ cousin, [A.T], said.

Torres said he hadn’t heard from Lueras in years, but added that the 42-year-old recently re-connected with some of their family members in an attempt to hide out of state.

"He wouldn’t tell us their names," Torres said.

He said his cousin came back to North Texas, where he had lived off-and-on for 25 years.

"Whoever did this definitely wanted to make an example out of him," Torres said.

Wow, 5 victims. Im glad they got him. What a callous dangerous man to also kill a child.
He would have continued to kill.

"Also in the affidavit, Thornburg said he has an in-depth knowledge of the Bible and believes he was called to commit human sacrifices.

Police have since identified the other two victims as adult women. Thornburg told detectives he knew the women “casually.” Again, though, he believed both women needed to be sacrificed.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will later release their identities."

OH my word!!! Whoever would imagine this to have been the reason for these deaths. WOW.

For the sake of history, I am going to quote the article again and a few key phrases. I have at times researched cases here and the old articles are no longer available and I wish the info was there at times.

This is just horrible. Ironically it was his cousin that said he had fears of someone hurting him but I never assumed it would be his roommate!

Affidavit: Accused Killer Jason Thornburg Says Slayings Were Human Sacrifices
The 41-year-old electrician’s apprentice is charged with capital murder of multiple persons. He has also admitted to killing another woman in another state and a 61-year-old Fort Worth man in May. He said he slit the man’s throat, then uncapped a gas line and lit a candle in the room… all as a human sacrifice, according to the affidavit.

Crime scene detectives are still searching the motel room in Euless Thornburg shared with one of the victims, David Lueras, 42. Thornburg told police he believed Lueras needed to be sacrificed. Thus, he cut his throat and cut Lueras into pieces in the bathtub. Thornburg kept the remains in trash bags several days before getting some Rubbermaid type bins to store them in.

Police have since identified the other two victims as adult women.

I think this headline says it best. Pure Evil!

'Pure Evil', Accused Killer Jason Thornburg Spoke At Alleged Victim's Funeral
At the Mid-City Inn in Euless where crime scene investigators were still going through room 113 Tuesday, residents said accused killer Jason Thornburg was often seen outside, reading his Bible, and talked about God and wanting help people. He left postcards for a local church in the motel office.

In May, Scott Black was attending a church in Fort Worth where a man was introduced who had escaped a house fire, made it out alive, but lost everything. That man was Thornburg. Black offered to help him, paying for hotel room, cooking him meals, had him around his family, and was about to offer him a place to stay in his own home but his wife didn’t want him to.

(..)
“He actually spoke at the guy’s funeral service,” Black said. That is what’s giving me chills. I’m stunned. My whole view of humanity has changed. This is evil. Pure evil.”

--------In the above video the reporter states that Thornburg also admitted to sacrificing (killing) his girlfriend in Arizona and that they are getting inquiries from other agencies. -----------

Over the next few days, Thornburg similarly “sacrificed” two women when they came by his Euless motel room on separate occasions, the warrant states. Police have not released the women’s names.

On the morning of Sept. 22, Thornburg, wearing a full hazmat body suit, loaded up the plastic containers, drove to Fort Worth, dumped the dismembered parts in a dumpster in the 3100 block of Bonnie Drive and set it on fire, Fort Worth police said.
......
In addition to the three bodies found on Sept. 22, Fort Worth police said Tuesday that Thornburg was a suspect in a May killing on Valentine Street where 61-year-old Mark Jewell’s throat was sliced and his house was set on fire.

In a Monday interview with detectives, Thornburg also confessed to sacrificing his girlfriend in Arizona. He identified her to detectives and police confirmed that the woman was reported missing. No other details were released by Fort Worth police on the Arizona case.

Trio Found in Texas Dumpster Were Killed in ‘Bible Sacrifice,’ Cops Say
Jason Alan Thornburg, 41, was arrested Monday night by Fort Worth police on capital murder charges, and is being held at the county jail on $1 million bond, according to detention records. Det. Thomas O’Brien, one of the lead investigators on the case, confirmed Thornburg’s arrest to The Daily Beast

Detectives began by checking surveillance cameras from the area around the dumpster, and zeroed in on a suspicious Jeep Grand Cherokee that looked like a model from 2005-2010. Police requested a list of all Grand Cherokees from that time frame registered in the area, which totaled more than 7,000 vehicles. However, one name stood out from the rest: Jason Thornburg.

Thornburg was familiar to detectives “because of a suspicious death investigation” this spring, said Loughman. The police report in that case, which was obtained by The Daily Beast, describes a suspected residential arson on May 21.

According to the warrant for Thornburg’s arrest in the dumpster murders, investigators contacted the lienholder on Thornburg’s vehicle and got GPS location data that placed it at the Mid-City Inn, a motel in Euless, Texas. Detectives checked surveillance video from the property, and discovered footage that allegedly showed Thornburg “exiting a room carrying plastic bins with what we believe to be body parts of our victims,” said Loughman. “That subject made multiple trips to and from that location to add additional items to the back of his car."
