TX TX - Dawn Michelle Stanley, 10, fnd strangled in crawlspace under closet, Lubbock, 21 Jun 1981

I started researching the June 21st murder of 11 year Dawn Stanley in 1981. I can't really find a whole lot of information on the crime. With the exception of the address where she lived and where her body was found in a crawlspace under her closet. And that she was strangled. There was a conviction and I'm not sure that the case was handled properly. Also look at the timeline, cause of death, location and the way the body was hidden and where, compared to the timeline of the unsolved murder of Jimmie Sue Smith.

I think that must be her. Although the murder did occur in Lubbock not Lamesa. He’s still incarcerated in a medical facility (still a prison).

I lived in Lubbock then and definitely remember the Jimmie Sue Smith case when it happened, but I don't remember this one. YIKES
