This San Antonio family’s journey to finding their lost dog involves a birthday, 1,360 miles, Bucc-ee’s and Hurricane Zeta.

In June 2014, Debi Vazquez and her daughter Danae let their three dogs out of their house into their fenced-in backyard so they could relieve themselves, but when it was time for them to come back inside, one of the pups had disappeared.

Wow, 1360 miles! How did King travel so far? Kudos to the animal shelter for checking for a microchip and providing the owner with a free hotel stay for the night.

The odds against wonderful King reuniting with his human family is one reason why I always have hope!

I especially liked the owners saying that "all the news stations were there". Everyone wants to hear good news!
