I just submitted a Pecos County Jane Doe from 1996 as a potential match.
All parameters either match, or closely match, except for the PMI, but there is no telling if she was alive for a while after her disappearance or the coroner was off. Anyway, both have a gold tooth with a star shape.

Was Doretha ever ruled out as Pecos County Jane Doe? I just ran across the same seemingly obvious match.

I'm still thinking about this match.

@carbuff , @victoriarobinson642 , @MadMcGoo sorry for tagging you guys but can anybody confirm whether this has been ruled out? Jane Doe and the missing woman are both African-American women with a gold star on one tooth. Height and age are close, both are Texas cases and there is a gap of 2-3 years between the disappearance and death.

They don't appear to have been compared. And no problem with tagging me :D

That's weird, since @devertere submitted the match back in December. Maybe Doretha doesn't have DNA or complete dentals to make a comparison?

It would be quite unusual to have results this soon even if the identifiers are available. Often exclusions come rather quickly; if it seems to be a match, they'll need to confirm it, which might require new tests or other time-consuming investigation. Not to mention that depending on the circumstances of the Jane Doe's death, they might need to keep the results confidential while they pursue an arrest.

Makes sense, thank you!

Just wanted to say, I never heard from them again. It might be a waiting game or they might just not think this is a priority at all.

Looks like the Pecos County Doe has been removed from NamUs.

Another potential match could be a 1994 NY Doe who had a tooth with a gold crown and star? African American female, age range 20 - 40.

There is a purported 3” height difference, ~60lb difference, the distance and some scars the Doe has that aren’t mentioned for Graves, though.

Another NAMUS profile was added today for her but shows a date of disappearance 4 years earlier.
That’s so odd… Both profiles have the same case number with the Dallas PD too…
