4 family members charged with murder of Harris Co. man shot while driving home

Deputies responded to the 17100 block of Hilton Hollow Drive in the Westminster Village Subdivision around 11:35 p.m. Monday.


When deputies arrived, they found a dark gray Dodge Challenger in the front yard of a home. Authorities say the car, which had multiple bullet strikes to the passenger side, had left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Eddie Clark, managed to exit the vehicle and walked a short distance away before he collapsed. He was taken to the hospital by Life Flight, but he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators learned that Clark, a resident of the subdivision, was not involved in the ongoing dispute and the Argueta family did not know him.

Even if the victim HAD been involved in the dispute, this act was still heinous. But with the circumstances stated that they did not know their victim, it is even more tragic and despicable. The vigilante family apparently HAD reported their grievance to authorities, but then did not allow LE to handle it. This wild west every-man-for-himself mentality is not a solution to our society’s ills IMHO.

Only one of the murderers is in custody. Three are on the run. Unlike the 19 year old in custody, the older individuals have Spanish first names.

Though Puerto Ricans and multi generational or even multi century Texas Hispanics etc. can also have Spanish first names as well, all three having Spanish first names greatly increases the possibility of direct ties to a foreign country and overseas flight.

It looks like both the shooter (Joe) and his mother (supporting participant) are in custody. This still leaves two suspects that need to be apprehended.

Using weapons is not the way to deal with teenage vandalism. This is such a tragic mistake that they will get to pay for.
