Task force apprehends mother of previously missing baby

A law enforcement task force led by the U.S. Marshals arrested a woman Thursday night who is accused of interfering with her newborn son’s custody.

Brittany Sadi Smith, 30, was booked that same day into the Travis County Jail, records show.

On Thursday, the task force surrounded an apartment complex in the 5600 block of Springdale Road to pursue Smith, and Smith eventually came out and surrendered to members of the task force, officials said.

On Thursday, August 15, 2019, Brittany Sadi Smith was arrested. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and patrol officers arrested Smith at 5605 Springdale Rd. around 7:30 p.m. She is currently in custody in the Travis County Jail and charged with interference with child custody and theft, both state jail felonies.
