I do agree that they should have looked at the security camera footage straight away...my goodness yes..

However they obviously had this down as a runaway because of what mum said. I am not blaming mum either, but obviously both her and the police did not suspect the evil dad.....why did mum also not get suss about it...and we know the answer to that, he and his de facto were good friends of hers and she prob did not think that they could do that to "the girl he thought of as his daughter".

The police should have looked into the last people to see her (as we all know here in ALOT of cases they are the perpetrator.)

To me this child should NOT have been hanging around these people and babysitting alone at the age of 13 in a shady motel.

just to add to the confusion they are saying on facebook that the son wasnt her boyfriend but that EE had a crush on him. He lives with his mum, not dad.

Wonder what this 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 said to her mum to make her think she ran off with the son.

I truly do feel for her mum to lose your daughter by someone who is supposedly a close friend.

They just found a body out by Shallowater that they think is Elizabeth. The father of the children she was babysitting is under arrest. The video from the motel she was babysitting at shows the father chasing her around and then forcing her into his car.

He claims she called him and told him the kids were giving her a hard time. He returned to the motel and loaded her and the kids into his car and took her home.

The video shows a different story.

If the body found is that of EE the police will charge him with murder.

http://www.tradingmarkets.com/news/...ubbock-teen-s-abduction-on-video-1441474.html

very long article, extracts below:

Salinas, who has an extensive violent criminal history that includes charges of domestic assault and injury to a child, remained jailed Monday on charges of aggravated kidnapping and terrorizing Ennen.

The suspect admitted to police that had argued with Ennen the night she disappeared. He said he received a call from his wife stating the children were giving Ennen a hard time and he needed to go home.
He said he returned to the motel room at about 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 4, according to court documents.
At about 1 a.m., he said Ennen started acting strange and wanted to go home. He claimed he told her he wanted to wait until his wife got home so his children wouldn't have to go out into the cold.
He said they argued for a moment before he decided to take her home. He claimed he loaded the children into the car and took her home.

According to Lubbock County court records, Salinas has an extensive criminal history that includes a number of violent charges.
He pleaded guilty to an August, 2007 domestic assault involving his wife, court records showed.
The police report read: "(Salinas) assaulted (victim). (Salinas) took (victim's) phone from her so that she could not call the police...He also was charged with aggravated assault in July 2007, drunk driving in 2002, theft ..., injury to a child in 1986...
...
However, police officials say that doesn't mean the agency didn't investigate the case from the start.
"We've been investigating since day 1," Stevens said on Monday, noting that last week's arrest was the direct result of the investigation and the agency's continued efforts to find out what happened to Ennen.
Police reports filed with court documents showed Monday that a patrol officer responded to the Ennen house after her mother called to report her missing Jan. 5. Detective Jeremy Winters was assigned the case that day.
The detective wrote in his reports that he went to Ennen's house on Jan. 5, but nobody was home. He left his card.
He said Ennen's mother called him back the next day, telling him that the 15-year-old girl could've possibly ran away with her boyfriend, Humberto Salinas III.
"The next several days I continued to focus on Humberto Salinas III and Elizabeth's friends to locate her," the detective wrote in his reports.
Details about the investigation weren't clear between Jan. 7 and 20 because those reports weren't filed in public record.
On Jan. 21, the detective notes in a report that he contacted Salinas and interviewed him. That's also the same day he got the security footage for the Carriage House and notes what appears to be the violent abduction of Ennen just after midnight Jan. 5.

The similarities in appearance between Hailey and Elizabeth are striking.

In the initial report in the early morning hours, they had her classified as a runaway.

Time line
Lubbock police reports revealed in court documents Monday detail some of the police efforts since Elizabeth Ennen went missing.
Jan. 5, 2011
■ 1 a.m. — Patrol officer Jason Nuss responds to Elizabeth’s Central Lubbock home, talks with her mother and takes a report. The summary of the public version of the report states: “Juvenile runaway.”
■ Later in the morning — Lubbock Police Detective Jeremy Winters is assigned the case. He goes to Ennen’s house. No one is home. He leaves his card asking teen’s mother to call him.
Jan. 6, 2011
■ Detective receives phone call from mother. He writes in his report that mother said Elizabeth could’ve possibly run away with her boyfriend, Humberto Salinas III.
■ Detective later writes in a report: “The next several days I continued to focus on Humberto Salinas III and Elizabeth’s friends to locate her.”
Jan. 7-20, 2011
■ Police reports for this time weren’t released in public document so it’s unknown what investigators did during this time. Police Spokesman Capt. Greg Stevens said investigators continued to work case.
Jan. 21, 2011
■ Detective writes in report that he contacted Humberto Salinas and asked for an interview.
■ Detective meets with Salinas and his wife as the Carriage House. Salinas later comes back to police department for a recorded interview.
■ Police get security camera footage from Carriage House, showing the hallways and parking lot.
■ Police department obtains a late-night warrant and arrests Salinas on charges of kidnapping and terrorizing Elizabeth Ennen.
Jan. 22, 2011
■ Lubbock police call afternoon news conference announcing the arrest and asking for the public’s help in locating Ennen, who is still missing.

Thanks for the timeline darlin gal
There's something I don't get - they spoke with Beth's friends and family and with "boyfriend"/guy she liked, the younger HS, and so LE knew where he was and that he likely wasn't hiding EE so at this stage with her other family and friends saying she wouldn't run away, I don't get why they didn't then do a check on HMS past and request an interview back in "7-20th" of January!

very sickening indeed and so fishy from the start when we learned about the hard to believe purse story, let alone the sitting at that motel

So, he really has almost an hour to do the deed by himself. If it was all done in this time, I don't see him able to make that drive by himself and get back in that amount of time.

If he was acting alone, he placed her somewhere during this time or handed her off to someone.

IMO, he had at least one accomplice or had a really good hiding place that he was able to conjure up in a short time, a place he really can't go back to until later on in the day if he is seen with the mother at the hotel later in the morning.

"Police were also back on the scene in the 5600 block of Elm Monday night, after having done a search at that location Sunday. Police have not said how that location fits in with the body that was discovered early Monday evening."

That's the area that was suggested in this forum yesterday.

Sounds like someone finally talked if they have two places they are looking at and found the body.

Elm was possibly the first dump site (possibly the murder site too) and later the body was moved to the rural site.

I really, really hope the video of Elizabeth does not show up on NG, or the news anytime soon. It is not necessary, with the suspect in custody and her body having been (presumably) found and would ONLY be shown for sensational purposes and ratings. And would be extremely disrespectful toward her family, not to mention horribly painful. I know that I do not want or need to see it. No one needs to see it, except for a jury.

I also wish I had more faith that it won't turn up somehow...:(except that LE may try to keep a lid on this case, since they hashed it up so badly. I'll bet there are some Lubbock LE folks who are silently hoping that the time of death matches Jan 5th...)

BBM

I respectfully disagree.

I have a 13 year old child that watches Nancy Grace with me every night and has for years. I think it's extremely important that we as parents LEARN from situations from this and TEACH our children HOW NOT TO BE A VICTIM. I'm not suggesting that we scare the crap out of them, I'm taking about empowering them. I've had mine in martial arts since he was 4 years old. Currently he's learning Krav Maga. If there is even a split second to get away, I want him to be able to seize the opportunity and not freeze in fear and become submissive. I want him to be thinking all the time.

That video can save a child's life.

I agree. My children follow the same stories I do current and past. I believe it subliminally teaches them to be aware of their surroundings and what to do if something was to happen.

I am watching Nancy right now.

They showed the lady talking about how the girl was "robot like" and how he "threw her in the car like a bag of garbage." :maddening:

It was the SAME woman who did the interview about the dollar store. It is the exact same interview as this one at this link.

http://everythinglubbock.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=69736

There is so many things wrong with this interview... I don't know where to start.

If they DO prove Elizabeth was alive until a week ago. They are going to have a hard time calling this woman as a witness about this sighting. The defense can argue that she is tainted because this reporter just showed her his mugshot. Instead of a police lineup. :waitasec:

Am I correct, that this woman saw the young girl and older man on the 17th? Yet Elizabeth has been missing since the 5th?? Or did she just not report it right away? And still not clear of what date the security videos from the hotel were taped... were they from the night/early a.m. when she went missing? And they did not look at the tapes until recently? Or it took them 2 weeks to ID Elizabeth and the suspect? (I did hear someone on NG say the tapes were grainy.)
I recall some lady calling in to NG last night, asking why this woman did not report this sighting earlier. So not clear on how long between the sighting and her reporting it. Sorry!

I agree... And I believe they got the location of the body from the dad. Last night I was scanning MSM links and I swear I saw where it was reported that he told them where to find EE (and not FB - a real news station). I'll keep looking.

With all due respect, Linda, the same effect can be gained by role playing, setting up scenarios and walking through them with your child. I did that often with my son through various stages of childhood and adolescence. In this day and age, I'd bet there are videos produced for just that purpose. If you think it would be helpful to review Elizabeth's particular situation, then talk about it with your child. Go over the written timeline of events and discuss it step by step. Ask your child if she would have done anything differently and consider the viability of each alternative.

There is no need to sensationalize the poor girl's suffering any further. The cruelty and disrespect associated with airing the video far outweighs any good it might do. IMO.
