GUILTY TX - Elizabeth Ennen, 15, Lubbock, 5 January 2011

reporters not letting them off the hook, continue to ask why the did not check into the Carriage House. Stevens continues to insist that there was no reason to investigate the Carriage House because they were given every indication that Elizabeth made it home that night and dissapeared from her house. They said they had no reason to not believe HS's story that he dropped her off at home...

Grrrrr....

Personally, I don't see that LE could have handled this case any differently than they did. Sadly, it wouldn't have made a difference in the world because it's seems pretty clear to me that Elizabeth was murdered the same evening that she was reported missing. Sounds to me like they did a good job in investigating and bringing this case to closure.

I wonder if they questioned the kids also. He probably had coached them on what to say and maybe even threatened them.

Hearing a father AND his children tell the same story may be more convincing.

We know from the video evidence he took the kids on the trip with the purse.

Whether he told the police he did or not is another story however.

Have they said whether she was sexually assaulted?

News reports also indicate several possible crime scenes. So, it does appear he moved her around a bit.

States Attorney: No deals were made in relation to information about where the body was.

They will not charge him now, are going to "package it all" and take it to the grand jury.

I wonder if he was just tired and knew the gig was up once they had him on video or if his cell phone pinged to that area and they just found the body on their own.

It sounds like he had to tell them exactly where the body was.

I don't care how they explain it away, they should have checked the video out long before they did. JMO

I totally, 100 percent, I stand here in conviction, my belief in this will not change, ... THEY SHOULD OF CHECKED THE TAPES - earlier.

If all else, if ANYTHING else, so her mother wouldn't grieve and worry about where her child was. To make a mother wait that long,.... that long before a real strong lead appeared.... unacceptable.

I will believe this forever. This will not change.

I know we all have our varying opinions but when I base mine I usually do it in the sense "What if this was my child?"

I am in complete agreement. I do not care if it would not have changed the outcome, that does not excuse poor police work. I live in Lubbock and I am outraged. Apparently some of our police officers just believe everything that someone tells them, and feel no need to investigate further. They believed HS from the get go, had the run his background maybe they would have questioned his story more...He was the last person to see her...I just will never understand why he was not investigated from day one!

IMHO - I absolutely do.

1. they look alike
2. a few hours is nothing (Colorado City and Lubbock are about two hours away from each other). This also attempts to perceive a disconnect in the 2 cases.
3. I reflect on the case of Amber Dubois and Chelsea King cases. San Diego is a busy city, and although these victims lived 10 miles apart, it's not unlikely that 100 miles is impossible. Same killer - 2 victims.
4. Motel connection? Different motels - but still, a motel.
5. dollar store connection? Both went to a different dollar store?
6. Both declared runaways (Yah right)
7. Both did not have any personal belongings.
8. Last known sighting by perp (in the HD case, I believe SA to be involved)

I'm more and more concerned about HD, and feel just awful about Elizabeth. I hope LE is lining up the circumstances in both cases and taking a good hard look.

All MOO

Best,

Mel

I agree with your post so much that all I been thinking about.
I been on the fence with SA but can not rule his actions out!

and I really like to know more about this story and why they rule this 'Investigation Hampered'

HS Jr. served 12 years for an attack on a 4 month old relative.

What part of that was taken into consideration, when the last person to see a missing girl was interviewed 16 days after she disappeared?

Why was his word believed, he was a hardened criminal, self-confessed as "crazy"? :furious:
