Finding out that SB's father finished work before going to the hospital is very unusual. Do we know if he was questioned by police? Or was willing to do a lie detector test?

I recall reading that Oscar took a lie detector test and passed it.

I had some quesitons in my mind regarding some parts of this murder plan that didn’t fit well and seemed not wellorganized. While thinking about these questions, a different theory came to me.

Questions :

1- Why wasn't the murder planned 10-15 minutes earlier, in the dark, and why was a risk to be recognized taken?

2- Why was the murder carried out almost immediately after S left the house? Wouldn't this seem suspicious for S?

3- Why did the killer enter and exit the schoolyard, pass Liz's house, and commit the murder upon returning?

All these questions are related to timing...

In this case, perhaps the original plan was for S to leave the house earlier, and for the murder to be committed earlier in the dark.

Could the change in the plan have been due to Liz's father not being able to come in the morning?

Actually, maybe the plan was for Sergio to leave the house much earlier due to work, and so Liz would be killed while waiting for her father to come over and start moving the garage sale stuff put
But since the father couldn't come, Liz and S had to carry the belongings out together, and that's when the timing questions I mentioned above arose.

SB's father didn't leave work after Liz was shot and as far as I know he hasn't been to any of the press conferences for Liz but he did start a Go Fund Me a week after Liz was killed. The proceeds were to go to the Peter Mayhew Foundation. I'm not sure how Go Fund Me works but I would be curious if the all the money raised went where it was supposed to go.

I could be mistaken, but I think some of the press conferences and appearances are just harder to find online, which might make it seem like Sergio has not been as present. From what I have been able to track down, he has actually been involved in multiple press conferences, interviews, and anniversary coverage over the years, not including the past two, which I have thoughts on below.

Just to share what I have found so far:

Jan 2019
Dateline / Crime Stoppers interview with Liz’s dad, Sergio, and Crime Stoppers
Robert Nuelle Jr
Vid @arielilane posted

Jan 2020
One year anniversary vigil, Sergio interviewed (ABC13)
Who killed Elizabeth Barraza?

Jan 2021
No press conference - Barraza doorbell perspective video released

Jan 2022
Press conference & reward increase, Sergio attended and spoke
Also featured in On the Case with Paula Zahn episode on Liz’s case

Jan 2023
No press conference that I am aware of, but KHOU’s Grace White did a longer segment with Sergio

Jan 2024
5 year anniversary Crime Stoppers HCSO press conference, Sergio spoke
- YouTube
Also appeared with Nancy Grace

Jan 2025
Crime Junkie releases episode on Jan 20
Bench memorial on Jan 30 (No Sergio from what I viewed)

The only anniversary/coverage I have not been aware of his presence is the last two years and I know some people can have strong feelings about that, but 10 days before the memorial bench dedication, Crime Junkie put out an episode on Liz’s case, and as is with every new media piece, commenters across the internet took to their favorite sites to accuse him of murder. Crime Junkie has one of, if not THE largest audience that has covered Liz’s story and that episode currently has over 1 million plays! So this is all speculation of course, but I can see how dealing with a massive influx of comments/ hate comments before you are to make a public appearance could deter you from wanting to even leave your house. All IMO and MOO etc.

I have followed this case for a while and I am always open to new information or different perspectives. From what I have seen so far, Sergio has shown up and spoken at a number of events over the years, even while being heavily criticized online. I understand why some people feel he should do more, but it does seem like he has made consistent efforts to be involved.

As for my own view, it has changed over time. Earlier on I had more questions, but based on what I have reviewed over the past couple of years, I personally do not believe he is involved. I completely understand why others feel differently, especially given the timing of the crime, but that is where I currently stand.

Ope. My bad. 🤦🏼‍♀️
No worries. I felt bad because you wrote so much but you're right SB has been there and through a lot. If he's not connected to the crime I'll feel bad for even thinking it at times. Personally, I've gone back and forth on whether he had any involvement but I remember listening to an interview he did on some podcast and thinking there's no way this guy was involved... but you never really know someone by listening to a few interviews.
