GUILTY TX - Emma Thompson, 4, dies with STD, skull fracture, Spring, 27 June 2009

So, Coe raped her the day before she died, because I also remember reading that the neighbor saw blood on her panties the day before she died and asked about it. AY told her she scraped herself getting out of the pool....

The Spring girl died at a Woodlands hospital on June 27. The autopsy showed Emma had "80 contusions, a severe head laceration, a scalp hemorrhaging, skull fracture, internal bleeding, a severe tear and hemorrhaging to the vagina."

"Later, in a custody hearing involving Emma's sisters, a neighbor testified that she had confronted the girls' mother, Abigail Young, after seeing blood on Emma's panties the day before she died. Young told the neighbor Emma had scratched her vagina getting out of a pool."

Of course, he could have done that two days in a row....:furious: But I'm not sure Emma's little body could have withstood that. AY noticed the scalp laceration and tried to glue it back together. So, in total she told people that Emma was bruised from walking into tables, scraped her vagina on the pool, got herpes from a toilet seat (that isn't so far from the truth), and fell in the bathroom. Words fail me. :loser: :banghead:

I see-Abby was playing Dr I guess. But I guess medicine is not really her forte because she was wrong about everything-Pick something. Bruises-she claimed it was leukemia. Genital Herpes- caused by a toilet seat. Vaginal Tearing and hemorraging-scratched herself getting out of the pool. Skull Fracture-fell off a toilet seat, here we will just super glue it back together.

No offense to anyone, but Abby pretty much sucks as a practitioner of medicine.

Her daughter's pancreas was severed. I guess there was no rush to get her to the hospital since there was no way Emma would survive this event-good she decided to clean first and then chat on her cell phone while the EMT's were working on Emma.

It is cases like this one that make me come apart at the seams, TBH.

Ya know, believe, I really, really, really want to know how much AY knew before 6/27/9. And I wonder exactly how long the relationship with Coe had been going on if she and BT only separated two months previous. If she could not see what was going on, how in the crap could she possibly have been a nurse? I pity her former patients if that is the case.

From fhc's link:

According to prosecutors, Young :liar: began having an affair with Coe in 2008, while married to her second husband and Emma's father, Ben Thompson. :nono: :loser:Coe:loser: was facing a pending and unrelated child abuse charge when the two began seeing each other. :loser:

I love ya IWannaKnow...tell us how you really feel about Abby???

From the same article:
Prosecutors disputed Ketterman's assertion and said testimony showed that neither Young's former husband nor her sister knew as much as she did. They also elicited testimony in the two-week trial that Young lied to investigators and medical providers about dating Coe.

[snipped]

The prosecution rested its case Thursday. Young's attorneys began putting on her defense Friday and expect to finish Monday.

Snip from the article linked by CuriousTwo:

'Confusing as hell'

Ketterman and her partner said they will argue that Young was confused because medical providers at Texas Children's Hospital did not seem concerned about the herpes. "The situation was confusing as hell," said attorney Colin Amann. "There are people saying 'sexually transmitted disease' and there are people saying they did a full medical exam and her daughter's OK. How would you deal with that conflict?"

She is a registered nurse. Are you kidding me? This is a defense? You know that you are living with a man who has been indicted for the severe abuse of another girlfriends child and the above causes simple confusion?

Abby, dont take the stand. Colleen Barnett is going to wipe the floor with you. JMVHO.

from fhc's link above:

"Defense lawyers for a Harris County mother accused of failing to protect her daughter from a fatal beating and rape rested their case this morning without calling the woman to testify.

"Didn't need to," said Julie Ketterman, attorney for Abigail Young. "I don't think they proved their case." "

AND

"The final witness in Young's trial today was her 12-year-old Laura Duty, who testified by video. She told jurors that Emma suffered two serious falls on June 27, 2009, the day she died, while in Lucas Coe's care. The first fall was in the family kitchen, where Emma hit her head on a bench, the child testified. The second fall came in the bathroom, where Emma hit her head on a toilet, she said."

I can't think of something snarky enough to say that won't get me banned so....:furious: :banghead: :furious:

This is the Houston Chronicle reporter that pulled this story out from under the rug almost a year ago. If you want to follow her, she might have the verdict news first :)
