And I will fess up-fwiw I do not want to believe that Emma was conscious of anything that happened the day she died.![]()
I can't tell you how much I wish that to be true.
And I will fess up-fwiw I do not want to believe that Emma was conscious of anything that happened the day she died.![]()
Did she take Emma to her own hospital? I assume yes. I am assuming that no one at the hospital would ever imagine an employee there was allowing her 4 year old to be a surrogate sex partner. (Forgive my plain speak. Because Abby bargained her daughter for a steady date....at least this is how I see it. This is what makes her pathetic in my eyes.)
I mean I wonder if she brought Emma to her own hospital-who is going to step on all of those toes when an actively employed nurse who happens to be the daughter of an administrator there looks you in the face and says the little girl really mean XYZ instead of ABC??? Again, JMO.
If I were a journalist looking for a good story, that is where I would start. I would drill this out to the hospital she brought Emma to and see what kind of bearing Abby's employment had on why they let her walk away with Emma 3 weeks before Emma died. In my mind, Emma was killed because she told. Coe knew that there was no going back this time when he hurt her the day she died. I also believe he knew he had a complicit partner in Abby.
While we wait for Coe, I think we should make sure that Abby's nursing license has been yanked, suspended whatever dont you?
You know, the statement BT made about ay waving as lc went upstairs makes me wonder. ay was obviously smitten with lcwaitasec: -incomprehensible IMO...), so why be so willing to share her daughter with him? She strikes me as the jealous type. Perhaps that is why she allowed Emma to be killed ('cause in my mind, that is what happened - despite what the jury decided)?? And why only Emma? There was another daughter from her union with BT....(hope this doesn't get me banned)
From the articles I read, when she left in her vehicle to take Emma to the ER (rather than calling 911, giving Coe an opportunity to leave the house with his daughter without being "caught"), she was going to a hospital in the area of her home. I believe at the time (according to news articles) she was working in downtown Houston which wasn't close to her home.
IIRC, her mother works for a hospital Foundation - the fundraising division of a hospital - she's not the CEO of an actual hospital.
IAY (inmate AY) only worked at the hospital in her mother's hometown for a couple of weeks and was in orientation the entire time. From what I read, (I'll find the article), she was on her first night shift on the floor (supervised and not giving direct patient care) when she was arrested on the job.
Just a few observations.
The mother called 911 at 7:30 p.m. while driving the girl to the hospital in The Woodlands. After the child became unconscious, the mother called for an ambulance while at the intersection of Gosling and West Rayford Road, Nelson said.
Two motorists stopped to help and found the child had stopped breathing, so they performed CPR until an ambulance arrived, Nelson said. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Benjamin Thompson said his wife, Abigail Young, told him that his daughter Emma, 4, had a childhood version of herpes that turned into the sexual disease that adults contract. He also said his wife told him that their daughter could have contracted the disease from a toilet seat. Another explanation was they were contracted at the swimming pool.
Homicide division Lt. Rolf Nelson said the child had bruises and cuts on her body.He said Either there were no explanations offered, or the explanations offered for the cause of the injuries were not plausible,
Both parents said the child had no other contact with adults, except maybe at a local swimming pool.
Some of the injuries also occurred before the day the child died, Nelson said.
Olguin, the CPS spokeswoman, said Emma shook her head, no when asked whether anyone had touched her inappropriately.
CPS started investigating a complaint of neglect and possible abuse involving Emma on June 8.
The pediatrician did note to investigators that the child had a 102-degree fever and blisters on her fingers, inside her mouth and in her vaginal area and that he ran a series of tests. the tests came back positive for genital herpes.
Clayton said she confronted the child's mother about her daughter's condition. She had no idea where it came from, Clayton recalled, though Young, 33, is a registered nurse.
Harris County investigators arrested Young around 5:45 p.m. Monday at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. wearing scrubs and had an ID badge for Trinity Medical Center- I guess you can't work at Texas Women's if you're under suspicion for murder!
Abigail's mother is the Director of Trinity Medical Services Foundation (Per KWHI -1280) ie; she gets $$$ donated by filing for grants and running fundraisers.
Trinity Medical Center CEO John Simms said when Young was hired, a background check revealed no charges filed against her. He also said Young had access to children at the hospital, but it was supervised.
Emma died June 27 at Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands Hospital after she became unconscious and stopped breathing as her mother was driving her to the emergency room.
Texas Board of Nursing Examiners records show the child's mother has been licensed as a registered nurse since June 2001 . Her license is set to expire Aug. 31. From everyone's accounts, relatives and friends, she's a gifted' nurse this is a term they use, Nelson said.
I bet the Homicide cops are seething, fwiw. I mean, this was a Homicide investigation and a murdered child-and no one is being tried for Homicide?
I know that some DA's wont stack charges that carry similar penalties but I have never know TX to be that kind of state. Some DA's will pick the charge that has the most severe penalty but is the easiest to prove and go to trial with that.
LCoast, who is the DA in Coe's case? Is it also Colleen Barnett??? Cause I am feelin some letter writing coming on....
A lawyer for Lucas Coe, charged in the death of 4-year-old Emma Thompson, has asked several local media outlets to provide the names of readers and listeners who commented about his client online.
Bert Steinmann, The Woodlands-based attorney for Coe, said he was struck by the conclusions people drew about his client and the specificity of some comments that made it appear they came from people with personal knowledge of the case.
