If she didn't have any ID on her she probably didn't fly into that airport. Especially since it was post-9/11.

Hmm, I wonder why she was at the airport at all? I had assumed her body was found in a car parked in long-term parking, but nope: "Stab wound after altercation at airport. Transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas."

Was she seeing someone off, having driven a friend or family member to the airport? Was she waiting for someone to arrive? Or was she homeless, living there (since airports are essentially open 24/7)?

So the bus stop where the altercation was, was the bus stop next to "Remote South Parking" for the airport, or at least it is now. It does look as though she was homeless at the time: http://www.dps.texas.gov/mpch/UnidentifiedDetails.asp?id=U0204001 (warning the post-mortem photo is here too). Looks like it did make local news (https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth439684/m1/159/, down as DFW Murder I think), but can't find any articles online right now.

OH, it was at a BUS STOP NEAR the airport - okay, I didn't read enough! That makes it way harder, she could be anyone, going anywhere. Ugh.

She was a tiny little thing. The map on NAMUS leads to a National/Alamo rental car return lot. What a strange case.

A 33-year-old man named Scott Ransom Houchins was arrested for this murder and for attacking another man who tried to defend the victim. Based on some Google searches I believe he was found guilty and spent some time in prison but not entirely 100% sure:

I wonder what the deal is with this one? It's coming up on a resolved thread with name withheld. And 4Tier it was hella hard to find! It took me longer than I'd like to search through WS and some old news articles to find the older thread and that's only because I totally remember this case for some reason. Using the South Airfield Drive address was ultimately how I got to it.

That is odd. It wouldn't be them removing a duplicate entry because their existence didn't overlap with each other. Maybe the original was just private? I know there have been a couple long resolved cases from Texas added to NamUs accidentally and a couple other cases where pages that were down for a long time went back up.

Totally. All of the links you posted are working just fine so it's super weird...

And it's always better to have something posted an extra time or two than not posted at all!

I found this case on the Texas Department of Public Safety website. (Post-mortem image warning.)
The webpage says the image was uploaded "1/23/2009", so I don't believe the entry is new.

I was able to find Scott Ransom Houchins on the TDCJ inmate lookup. He was convicted of murder and aggravated assault in this case on 6/12/2003 and sentenced to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole on 1/26/2033.
