TX - Fertilizer plant explodes in West, Texas

  • #121
Saw this on twitter:

An odd review made by a "Braden" to make about a fertilizer plant less than a week before it explodes. ???

Or maybe Google just says "less than 1 week ago" when a person posts? There are more "reviews" posted now that say similar things.

Weird. Praying for all those there!

I believe it means posts made in the past week as it has been empty until now. Some of the comments are sickening. :furious:

Also, props to SailorMoon for not naming this thread ''Explosion at the ..." because that would have been realllly confusing for people who use tabs.

I was still in shock and scrambling to find out what the heck just shook my house!! I just wonder if the smoke will get up to us. We had a heck of a problem with the Magnablend smoke and chemicals blowing and drifting. And we have storms coming through in a few hours. Won't be getting much sleep tonight.

Number of dead and injured is all over the place on Twitter. Every news station reporting something different. Many say 2 confirmed deceased and 66 confirmed injured. Others are tweeting many more. I just don't know what's reliable right now.

Sailor moon, take care!

How close are you?

The Mayor says 60-80 homes are gone.
How can people survive that if they were in their homes?
Between the homes and the apartment complex??
Only 70 deaths will be miraculous. :please:

I'm 70 miles away but it was still loud and thought it was an earthquake. Knew it would be bad.

Hopefully the 70 deaths is wrong and is much lower.

I think they are gone. There were firefighters at a convenience store about 3 miles away, they saw the fire, they headed to it, about 10 minutes later it exploded. That's what's sad. So many people were at home too. I know how strong it was here and I cannot imagine being in the same town.

Are you worried about fumes heading your direction?

I would be if it weren't for the storms coming in from the north. May step outside and smell. They are smelling it in Ft. Worth.

Please stay safe!

No smell here in Ellis County....yet.

My heart goes out to all who are suffering. I just can't imagine the horror.

Prayers going up.

A volunteer fireman. They will tell you they are crazy. They proudly declare that they run towards the things that others run away from.

But make no mistake about the volunteer fireman. They put in many hours of training. Without being paid. They spend many hours in community service. Without pay. They drop their lives at the first tone of a call out, and run to the rescue. Without pay. They subject their bodies to blazing heat and flames, and their minds and emotions to those they could not save. Without pay.

And they are dedicated. Many will volunteer for years. Many will see their children join along with them.

A volunteer fireman is the very definition of a hero.
