Yep.
Anyone see the photos? He has a new maroon colored Corvette, she is thin, youngish, pretty hairdo, stylish wedding gown.
Rusty looks dumpy to me.

I hope to goodness she is on the Pill and never goes off it. Rusty deprived and neglected Andrea after it was evident that she needed help, not babies.
I second that !!!!!very well said!!!!!!!!I remember also of alot of photos seen of andrea before the deaths of her children and she always looked dumpy>>>I just wonder how long it will take before this one looks dumpy????I didnt expect him to grieve forever but good grief I feel like its still kinda early for him to be getting married and andreas new trial not yet started seems tacky to me!!!I feel sorry for the children and Andrea. In a way ,she seems like a victim also!!!She was unstable for a long time and people let it go on insurance company or not if your loved one has problems and you have small kids or even not GET THEM HELP!!!!!!LIVES CAN BE AT STAKE!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if the new Mrs. Yates will be sitting in on the trial and, if so, how Andrea will feel about that????

If that man has any respect at all, he will leave her at home.

If he has any respect, its something that he just learned. He didn't have any before.

He should stay at home, too. I believe he's helped enough.

Here is an article from Newsweek which I don't think has been posted.

Rusty Yates Marries 'A Fine and Loving Person'

Snips

Yates began dating Arnold shortly after his divorce became final on March 17, 2005. In December, he took Arnold to Tennessee to meet his extended family, and he proposed that month. They've worked for 17 years at the same sprawling NASA complex without ever meeting. (He is an engineer for the space agency; she works for a contractor.) "She's a fine and loving person," says SuzanneO'Malley, author of " 'Are You There Alone?' The Unspeakable Crime of Andrea Yates," who continues to talk with Rusty Yates. Both Yates and Arnold are active in church affairs, including a program called the Stephen Ministry, which trains church members to counsel people weathering difficult times. As part of the ministry, Yates has been meeting with Becky Morris's 21-year-old son. "Rusty's been really great," Morris says.

Yates, who visited his ex-wife six weeks ago, told the Associated Press in an e-mail, "Andrea has been aware of [the wedding] for a couple of months, and she wishes me the best, just as I wish her the best." (He did not reply to NEWSWEEK's requests for an interview.) But Andrea's friend Bob Holmes said that while Rusty had told her he was engaged, she learned of the wedding date only from the public announcement last week. "She wishes them well," Holmes says. "But still it really hurt [her] not to hear it from him." O'Malley, who exchanges letters with her, says: "Andrea has communicated to me in writing that she's sad no longer to be Mrs. Yates ... It hurts her, but I don't think she begrudges him that opportunity."

After the wedding, the couple expect to remain in the area. "Rusty's always loved children," Caroland says, but she's uncertain whether the couple plans to have children    ...............(More at link)

It upsets me that people call her evil. She is not evil, she is sick. We have compassion for cancer patients and so forth so why not mental illness. It really hurts my feelings to hear that. Sorry, if my tone is harsh, I just feel strongly about it.
COULDNT HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!ANDREA WAS/IS VERY SICK!!AND RUSTY SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE..

Has there been any news on the Andrea Yates trial? I know she was released to a mental hospital outside of the prison, but that is the last I heard. I sure hope they do the right thing for Andrea. She is truly sick and I just want to give her a hug. If she had been in her right state of mind she would have never drowned thoses angels. Rusty, please, he should be the one in jail, yet he is married and driving sport cars!!!

Yates ordered to surrender to jail

01:43 PM CDT on Friday, June 16, 2006
Associated Press

HOUSTON - A judge ordered Andrea Yates to turn herself in to jail by Monday, a few days before her retrial in the bathtub drownings of her children.

State District Judge Belinda Hill in Houston on Friday denied a lawyer's request that Yates be housed in a private Houston psychiatric facility rather than the county jail during her retrial.

The trial starts with jury selection next week and is expected to last through the end of July.

The 41-year-old Yates wasn't in court during today's hearing.

Yates has been in a state psychiatric hospital since she was released from prison on $200,000 bail in February. Her 2002 conviction was overturned last year when an appeals court said a prosecution witness' erroneous testimony may have swayed jurors.

Yates again is pleading innocent by reason of insanity. If convicted, she could be imprisoned for life.

HOUSTON, Texas (AP) -- Andrea Yates often struggles with deep depression or hallucinations in the weeks around June 20, the date when she drowned her five children in their bathtub in 2001. During that period this year, Yates will be in court for her second murder trial.

Jury selection begins in Yates retrial

HOUSTON - Potential jurors in the second murder trial of Andrea Yates on Thursday questioned the state's legal definition of insanity and several told the judge they disagreed with it.

Jury selection began Thursday in the retrial of the suburban Houston woman who drowned her five children in the family bathtub five years ago this week. Attorneys and state district Judge Belinda Hill questioned 120 potential jurors as a group.

Yates, wearing a dark blue, flowered dress, stood as her defense team was introduced to the jury pool, smiled slightly and quietly said, "Good morning," before returning to her seat. She sat quietly throughout the morning, watching the judge and jury pool.

Several potential jurors said they disagreed with Texas's legal definition of insanity, which states that at the time of the offense, the defendant, as a result of severe mental disase or defect, did not know that his or her conduct was wrong.

Others asked for legal definitions of "severe," and "wrong," but Hill said she could offer none.

About 20 potential jurors said they had already decided that Yates was legally insance without hearing any evidence; another three dozen said they couldn't be impartial based on what they had already heard about the case.

Jury selection is expected to last through Friday. Opening statements are set for Monday.

She needs a hospital, not a jail. And well, Rusty, let's not even go there. I think I could take him swimming with no problem. (Don't call LE, I'm far from him!!!!)

Prosecutor: Yates wanted to be punished

HOUSTON - Andrea Yates drowned her five children in the bathtub because she thought she was a bad mother and wanted to be punished, a prosecutor said Monday during opening statements of her second murder trial.

"She had been contemplating for approximately two years that she knew it was wrong, that she knew she would be punished, and that's what she told police on June 20, 2001," prosecutor Kaylynn Williford told jurors in Yates' retrial. Her 2002 conviction was overturned because of some erroneous testimony.

Parnham said Yates told a prison psychiatrist after her arrest that the only way she could save her children and send them to heaven was to kill them because she was a bad mother and Satan was living inside her. Yates also told the psychiatrist she was hearing demons in jail and thought there was a "666," a symbol of the Antichrist, on her scalp.

If convicted of capital murder, Yates will be sentenced to life in prison because prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty. After the first jury rejected death, prosecutors could not seek it again because they did not find any new evidence.

I remember reading, I think on Court TV, that she begged the Doctor to look at her scalp to see the 666 symbol and all he saw were scabs where she had tried to dig them out. I really hope they put her in a mental hospital that can help her illness. If she goes to a prison mental ward she will just be medicated and left.

Maybe not Masissy. She's been in the prison hospital this entire time and she's actually had some progress. Of course, good days and bad days, but they do seem to be helping her.

That is so good to know. Too bad it took all this to get her the help she needed when Rusty should have stepped in.

I wonder if Russel Yates has this same problem. I doubt it, he seems to be carefree and happy as a lark. I wonder if his new wife loses any sleep over what he did to Andrea Yates.
