so, as long as you're doing something illegal in YOUR apartment, no problems? mmmm…..
He would not have even received a ticket for the marijuana in his apartment. He certainly would not have been executed for it.
First-time offenders won't be prosecuted for misdemeanor possession, DA John Creuzot said Thursday.

DALLAS — Dallas County now has as lenient of a marijuana policy in Texas, at least for first-time offenders.

District Attorney John Creuzot on Thursday announced that his office is no longer prosecuting first-time offenders for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Dallas County's marijuana policy now as lenient as any other in Texas

No alcohol or drugs found per testimony (early today, I think).
Thank you. I had thought there was a delay in testing, but that could be a rumor.

Wish I remembered specifics, but all I'm sure of is there were tests done and they didn't find anything.

No cussing from me. I totally agree. I want to know about her tox screens, and if nothing was performed, I want to know why. The mugshot does not scream "healthy and sober" to me.
They did a blood draw around 3AM(!) and found no alcohol or drugs in her system.

The amount of marijuana he had was effectively legalized in Dallas. IMO he didn't have time to think anything.

Okay, so I am waiting for the "smoking gun" that made the grand jury up the charges. From "manslaughter" to "murder".

Same here. Maybe it was as simple as Texas law is, shall we say, different when it comes to defining murder?

ETA: Do I remember correctly that a judge refused to "sign off" on manslaughter, but would on murder?

I don't believe they tested for anabolic steroids (via a hair strand test - which even after a year can show usage). Anabolic steroids can be attributed to rage, and even psychosis. I would test her for steroids.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Me neither. I was referring to her huge pupils. But maybe that's what some people's eyes do when they shoot a guy who was just eating ice cream on his couch.

Looking through the eyes of a juror, the sexy texts probably irrelevant to the jury, and so is the ridiculous marijuana angle. Just my opinion.

The subject matter maybe. But the texting itself and the focus might be very relevant. She was distracted. While exhausted from work and carrying a loaded weapon.

To be clear, we would be just as shocked by the pot if Amber the police officer/woman had been at home with her pot and ice cream and Botham the civilian/man had been sexy-texting and opened her door and shot her, right?
The pot use would be way worse than the larger context of her life as a "serve and protect" officer?

There's only one thing that's abundantly clear here!

Me and my husband both work from home so in between calls we’ve been watching pretty much all day, both of us broke down atleast twice today.

I’m still in awe.

Question - didn’t we hear yesterday before court started that the 911 call was after she texted her boyfriend/partner to find out what to say and that it was 3:45 mins later.

And then in the video today, the girl was texting in the hall and texting in the car. The level of emotion that is displayed after him getting shot is sick and absolutely disgusting.

If this trial depended on that and that alone, she would be done. But it’s not and now we are really having to debate about a guy in his own apartment getting shot and the reason she shouldn’t get off because she was sexting with her boyfriend.

Gag.

Pot is as normal as glass of wine for millions and millions of people in the US. He had a small amount and a common tool used with it. I don't see this as abnormal for a anyone, let alone a religious person, one from the islands at that.

you'll be waiting a long time. there is no "smoking gun" (I wouldn't have used that phrase, for sure). this has been turned into a political football which fits an "anti-cop" narrative. all my opinion.

I don't think drugs are the issue here.
