She would have certainly been bloodied considering the bullet pierced his heart. And one hand compressions on an adult is never correct, unless the provider has only one arm.

IMO this is a lie. Any Compression.
As a juror I would form that opinion based on that the State pointed out (& AG admitted) she never used her wound gauze which was right by her. 2 unopened rolls. Her gloves were never used per evidence yesterday. Still tucked in her pocket

And ( wow) she forgot her CPR training.
She said under ( leading) defense this morning she -did not know CPR- only how to do stern compression.
Then on cross by the State , she says well, yes I was taught CPR but I don’t know how to do it on a real person.
The State pointed out that AG hands were interested in only herself in those critical moments. Texting!

2 days post killing Bo.. she is back sexting MR!!! Disgusting.

Amber Guyger testifies at murder trial of neighbor: 'I hate myself every single day'
Guyger's plans on the night that Jean, a 26-year-old accountant, died have become central to the trial.

Prosecutors have used text messages she shared with Rivera to make the case that Guyger was not as fatigued and made plans to meet with Rivera on the night she said she mistakenly entered Jean's apartment when she got home just before 10 p.m.

On Friday, Hermus pointed out to Guyger that two days after the shooting, she still sent "flirtatious" text messages to Rivera and talked about getting drunk.

Guyger acknowledged that, but said her remorse for killing Jean "lasted every day."

Oh, specifically texts after she killed Botham?

Yes, Betty P posted: "Prosecutor says she was sending texts, talking about sex, getting drunk after Jean was killed."

The paramedic testified he saw no blood until he began chest compressions. Then it started squirting out.

Unfortunately, not against the law.

We can all agree that AG is a piece of work.

But that's different from texting him about having sex and getting drunk AFTER Jean was shot, which was eluded to in an earlier post. Were other texts revealed that talked specifically about wanting sex from him and getting drunk?

Yes, they didn't show or read them, but the prosecution mentioned them. She admitted she sent texts in the days after, IIRC even on the day of Jean's funeral, that were considered sexts and saying she wanted to go get drunk. Kind of got the impression it was that kind of dark, sarcastic cop humor, not being sad or depressed.

This
She was texting her cop partner - who she was intimate with for over a year - he is married with kids having an affair with Guyger - instead of radioing for help (would have brought help faster than 911) and instead of giving CPR and using her first aid kit to help him.
This is simply not true.

It does when part of the defenses strategy is make her character look as helpful and sweet as possible... A lawyer said “once the defense tries to bring out good character, the prosecution has every right to cross exam her on why that isn’t true.” As far as I’m concerned if her lawyers want to bring it out then the state can hammer her on why that isn’t the case. It’s called good lawyering.

Unfortunately, not against the law.

Of course not, but very incriminating against her when the jury is considering their verdict. She's a very messed up person, JMO. Still a danger to the public.

Anyone else catch that she said "I thought he would come at me" when all along she had said he DID come at her???? I thought that was interesting.

The fact that she had life saving first aid bandages for bleeding in her backpack on her person and chose to text her married with kids cop partner instead of getting those out and using them is so very awful :(

She could have closed the door and retreated, she could have retreated, she could have said "WHO IS THERE?", she could have used mace, she could have used a taser, she could have radio'd for help....so many options!

(sorry for the run on sentence)

"I thought he would come at me" when all along she had said he DID come at her

NICE CATCH

They went over a lot of texts when her married boyfriend cop partner was on the stand. Read their sexts in court.
Of course my heart breaks for Bothom’s family, and I also feel badly for Officer “Romeo’s” wife and kids. The shame and humiliation he is putting them through! Not a real man in my opinion.

Amateur opinion and speculation

It doesn't have to be against the law to be relevant

This is simply not true.

She did call 911, according to her testimony. After that, while waiting for LE and while Jean was dying, she admitted texting her boyfriend/partner for several minutes. Prosecution pointed out an approximation of how much time she had to administer first aid to stop the bleeding, but didn't. IIRC it was something like 5 to 7 minutes.

At one point she admitted sitting next to Jean as he struggled to live, texting her boyfriend, doing nothing to help.

Edited , as Jean was still alive during the entire time she was at the apartment with him.

Guyger acknowledged that, but said her remorse for killing Jean "lasted every day."
Respectfully snipped for focus and commentary response.

Well dandy. She will have plenty of time to reflect on that remorse, and how she has found herself in this situation....behind bars. In a cell.
While Botham can’t reflect, because he is dead. In the ground.
Pretty much sums it up for me.

The State called her out on (her little sweet voice she had been using all morning ) on that AG uses a much louder bravado when in cop mode!

I just want to say I love this judge.
I can tell she is truly fair.
She has openly shown concern for BOTH sides.

Ex-officer Amber Guyger testifies that she wishes Botham Jean 'was the one with the gun who had killed me'

September 27, 2019

"Dallas (CNN)Amber Guyger, the ex-Dallas police officer charged with killing a 26-year-old man in his own apartment while she was off duty, broke down on the witness stand Friday, saying she believed she'd entered her own home and thought the man she encountered was going to kill her.

"I hate that I have to live with this every single day of my life," Guyger cried as she testified in her own defense.

"I ask God for forgiveness, and I hate myself every single day ... I wish he was the one with the gun who had killed me. I never wanted to take an innocent person's life."

Guyger, who's charged with murder in the death of Botham Jean, struggled to maintain her composure most of the day. She testified that she was "scared to death" at discovering the apartment door "cracked open" and a silhouetted figure in the darkness inside.

Guyger testified she was still in uniform when she drew her service weapon and shouted: "Let me see your hands! Let me see your hands!"

The silhouetted figure moved toward her in a "fast-paced walk," she said. She couldn't see the person's hands.

"Hey, hey, hey," she said the person shouted, and she pulled the trigger...."
