Not an attorney but I’ve heard shorter the deliberation usually means guilty.

(Edit to say it was from people on Court Tv from other cases they have followed. )
Lol, I've always heard just the opposite!

I seen someone say the other day that as long as Jason Hermus was the assistant DA, they vow to never commit any crime in Dallas that he could be the prosecutor of ... lol “oh,Twitter.”

And this is what people deserve when they don't lock his door.

And smoking pot. Remember, there were posts here that indicated he isn't a good guy because HE WAS BREAKING THE LAW.

So sad.

IMO a verdict won’t take long. This is not a complicated case to me anyway. It is pretty black and white (no racism intended here either). We know what the victim did not do that caused no threat to AG and we do know that AG overreacted rather than follow a set learned plan. AG failed to perform appropriately in more ways then one. The victim had no reason to perform in any way shape or form.

That maintenance statement makes total sense. That is so true.

Hermus should’ve had the whole hour! What a waste with that other prosecutor. Ugh!

This is the way I understand it, but again I think it should apply only to persons legally occupying a resident.

I agree. In fact the defense specifically states it only applies to one's own home or business. But it appears that inclusion here enables mistake of defense to cause it to kick in. Which would defeat the entire purpose of the law, which is to keep people safe in their own sanctuaries!!!

Anybody else in tears? Praying for the right answer and being able to accept it.

Strong strong finish by Hermus!

It never addressed the lack of first aid.

Judge looks nervous.

I did not hear Pros 1 but defense and pros rebuttal were very good.

Bringing up that his use of marijuana may have worked against his ability to process the situation.

Assuming he fully processed the situation, what could he have done to change the outcome?

If all you need is the belief that it's your residence, then welcome to the Wild West.

Obeyed her non-existent "clear commands".

100%. So there has to be a verdict of guilty in this case. Otherwise we have a real problem in this country.

I pray the jury gets it right.

I am just going to say this while we wait - there are no winners in this case no matter the verdict. I know everyone has their views both pros and defense but, right now, my thoughts are with the Jean family and all those whose lives have been changed by Botham's precious life being taken way too soon. He was not only an innocent person, he was, by all accounts, an amazing person.♥️

In the hands of the jury. Waiting for justice.

Now we wait. Jury might come in by the end of the day but my guess it will be tomorrow before lunch.
