sudden passion...she is addressing it now...does not apply here.Frankly me neither. Unless there was evidence that she wanted to do this before she did and celebrated wildly after I still see this within a certain range regardless of her flaws or his strength of character.
Because for me it's mostly the crime and their actions and statements after the crime about the crimes that matter most want to come to sentencing for me. Also any past criminal history.
So what's been going on in the case? I've been sitting around in court waiting for paperwork with nothing to do but no Internet access inside the court room.
What other option?
Defense fought for sudden passion & won. Drops it down to 2nd degree felony. 2 years minimum....don’t know max
IMO I am very disheartened reading so many hurtful and demeaning comments towards AG. I believe wholeheartedly that she was wrong and that she deserves to serve jail time for taking the life of an innocent man. However I also do not believe she had malicious intent. She made a series of bad choices that led to a tragic outcome. This was not a women that murdered someone she was angry with or hurt at. Change one circumstance and this would not have happened. I get that she did not act in a way many of us believe we would have. Different people handle situations different. Does that mean they are an awful person? Botham was an amazing person from all accounts. I believe that he would not wish such hate upon AG. What good comes out of wishing she felt as alone or scared as he did? Her life is forever changed based on her actions. Bad choices that she made. As i said earlier i do believe she needs to be punished for her actions. I just do not understand the hate towards her. If this was Chris Watts or another person that took a life with malicious intent i would understand. In my opinion that is not AG.
family wants 25 years and I am happy if they are.I do not feel that she needs to go to prison for life.
I would be good with 10 to 20 years.
She already has to live with the fact that she took someone else's life.

You are not alone in that opinion. I hope you don't ever feel afraid to post here.I’m slightly afraid to post my opinion because I know it is vastly different than others here but I don’t believe she needs to go away for life. She definitely needs to go away for a substantial period of time but I think she is someone who could be changed and come out a different person, a better person, and if she was a dangerous person before all this I don’t think, if she were to be free again one day, she would be considered dangerous in the same way. She won’t be a cop, she will be struggling to get on her feet, but I don’t think she’d ever repeat something like this again. Sorry

it is in instructions but most are sure it will be be considered by jury...he would had to provoke her and he did not.
No they didn't win. Sudden passion requires "adequate cause". Prosecution just pointed out there was no adequate cause.Defense fought for sudden passion & won. Drops it down to 2nd degree felony. 2 years minimum....don’t know max
There's no reason for you to apologize, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. I believe a long sentence length is important because it also will send a message to all the other badge carrying Rambo's that their behavior is unacceptable.I’m slightly afraid to post my opinion because I know it is vastly different than others here but I don’t believe she needs to go away for life.
