Sorry if already mentioned, can't keep up with all posts but I just watched a you tube where a reporter was saying there's an appeals attorney taking notes and consulting with the defense.
standard protocol.

While we wait, I just want to say that the opportunity for Bo's family to speak may have been somewhat healing. I once had to give a victim impact statement and just to be heard brings some amount of peace. I hope they feel that the nation mourned with them as they described their beautiful son and that they know he has inspired many and will be remembered.

Yes!! And that's a prime part of justice. Healing.

may i ask what time has she served?
Her booking time only, perhaps a few hours, I don't think she ever saw the inside of a jail cell until last night.

Sentencing phase was so inflammatory, she will not get less than 50 years.

Ok I've been wrong every time on predicting this case but maybe third time (or 18th) is the charm. I'm guessing 10-20 range.

and they're back...I guess AG isn't testifying. They are going straight to closing arguments.

Commentators speculated that prosecutors would have cornered her over SM and texts, and it was too much of a risk.

I just know in Texas she will likely only serve 1/3 of her sentence as long as she behaves well. So 28 = 9 years, which sounds good to me. She'd still be youngish when she got out, could still make a reasonable life for herself, but would serve some real time. Just MHO.

I hope the jury chooses life. With no parole.

There's no reason for you to apologize, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. I believe a long sentence length is important because it also will send a message to all the other badge carrying Rambo's that their behavior is unacceptable.

So would a 10 year sentence. We rarely see even arrests let alone convictions of rogue cops.

I agree, I'm thinking 10-20

So the same that people who murder their whole families get? Their kids and wives and all?

That doesn't seem like justice to me.

Last night was her first night incarcerated.

I think the OP was talking about how much time she can serve before being paroled and the next poster thought it was about something else?

I was thinking 5-10 prior to sentencing. I think it will be much more now. Hard to estimate without seeing the testimony myself yet.

I know I am alone in this but I hope it is less than 10.
This is my opinion only. So, please, do not come after me with pitchforks.

She'd be out in a little over 3 years, that's not gonna work.
