A Texas court is scheduled to hear arguments Tuesday on overturning the conviction of a former Dallas police officer who was sentenced to prison for fatally shooting her neighbor in his home.

The 911 call AG made ... made me gag.
Speaking in a little girl squeaky voice and acting concerned.
What was interesting was that she seemed completely lucid and I don't think she walked into that apartment and thought he was an intruder bent on destruction.
BJ was sitting on the couch eating.
How was that a threat ??

Jean's mother, Allison Jean, told the Dallas Morning News that the appeal has delayed her family's healing process.
”I know everyone has a right of appeal, and I believe she’s utilizing that right,” Jean said. “But on the other hand, there is one person who cannot utilize any more rights because she took him away.
“So having gotten 10 years, only 10, for killing someone who was in the prime of his life and doing no wrong in the comfort of his home, I believe that she ought to accept, take accountability for it and move on,” she said.

There is no other evidence of self defense... all other testimony was contradictory for such....
She admitted she intended to kill, and didn't render first aid.

I don't believe the appellate court will find any favor with AG's argument.
The appellate is where the accused presents evidence that there was a mistake of fact. -- It's not where the accused didn't like the outcome or result after the facts were heard.
The facts have never been in dispute, period.

A panel of three Texas appeals court judges appeared skeptical Tuesday of arguments to overturn the conviction.
Guyger, 32, did not appear in court Tuesday and the panel seemed to doubt the arguments presented by her lawyer. The judges will hand down a decision at an unspecified later date.
Under her current sentence, Guyger will become eligible for parole in 2024.

She deserved much, much longer prison time IMO.
She killed a man eating ice cream in his own leased apartment. His safe place that he worked hard to acquire. By all accounts he was an accomplished & truly spiritual, loving person. He deserved rest and complete peace whether his door was locked.. or not!!!
She was sexting as she drove inside the apt garage levels, planning her night, telling her lover her physical “state”, she was not paying attention to the garage floor, the sky line , the lighting, the plants or a very RED rug.
She did not render aide post shooting Bo...she was only concerned for herself, pacing, crying, calling friends with LE... after she in fact ended an entire innocent soul’s life.
Her concern through the entire, even the trial, was for strictly herself!
Seriously and still is....I do pray they shut her down .
Just go away Amber and serve the time.

The Fifth Court of Appeals did not dispute the facts of the case or that Guyger mistakenly entered Jean's apartment believing it was her own, but agreed that the jury could have determined "Guyger's belief that deadly force was immediately necessary was not reasonable."
"That she was mistaken as to Jean’s status as a resident in his own apartment or a burglar in hers does not change her mental state from intentional or knowing to criminally negligent," the court argued. "We decline to rely on Guyger’s misperception of the circumstances leading to her mistaken beliefs as a basis to reform the jury’s verdict in light of the direct evidence of her intent to kill."
Guyger could still raise the case to Texas' Court of Criminal Appeals, but Thursday's ruling is a setback to Guyger's attempt to receive a reduced sentence. As it stands, she could be eligible for parole as soon as 2024.
