TX - Frances Newton facing execution for '87 murders

I watched several videos and read a few articles. I never heard of this case before.

I wonder if her family and friends are still trying to prove her innocense?

From what I read, I can't see that she was guilty, 'beyond a reasonable doubt.' It appears the pros withheld evidence. It was never proven they didn't. She also had ineffective counsel, but they still executed her. At the least I would think she would have been given a 'new trial.'

IMHO, I hope they do move forward with this until they get answers. It would be a shame if they executed an innocent person and THEN covered it up. :(

It appears to me, IMHO, this case should be investigated until there's nothing left to investigate. Guilty or not guilty, this needs to be settled, once and for all. Too late for the accused, sadly, IF she was in fact innocent. But her family deserves to KNOW, 'beyond a reasonable doubt.'

Fran thanks for your opinion, thats sort of the feeling I was getting, and yes, I do believe she needs to be exonerated if she was actually innocent.

Because it still would have people gossiping "oooh their's Mary her daughters that girl you know that murdered and family and got EXECUTED"

People love to revel in other peoples misery (sadly)

I think she just wasnt able to be strong enough to stand up for herself , get proper counsel etc, and of course she would have been traumatized by the deaths of her children and husband.

Someone confessed to being that person that was the drug dealer that went and did kill them.

Its always just EASIER To blame the Parent one or the other or Both and say yep they did it. Because THEN They dont have to look for the REAL culprit do they.

Of course there ARE Those cases where its blindingly obvious that the parent had some hand in it...

Although that raises the question why are we so quick to defend some and convict others by what we see in the media and reports ?

It amazes me how some women like this where there is Great Doubt that she did it, is convicted and executed and then there are others like PR and the McCanns that get to just walk away :( (well I know PR is 6ft under but was not punished)

Well, from what I've seen, I can't say that she was guilty. I pray her family is persuing this. IF for anything, to make sure it doesn't happen again!
