After their remains were discovered, identified and matched to one another, I believe anything is possible irt mispers/UID persons. Even if it is not known conclusively by their loved ones that they are involuntary missing/murdered.

I truly think that cases such as you mention are inordinately helped by WSers and their commitment, persistence, research and care.

Definitely in this case and literally from a (suit)case tag, which was ID’d by a WSer. It pinpointed where the item had been purchased to help police construct a timeline. WSers search for missing puzzle pieces, hoping to help police complete the picture.

I don’t feel the mother is “missing” as well. Our Jacob was abused I believe it said. ( could be wrong ) I think Jacob was dumped like little Bella. Not saying mom did it. For all we know he was in foster care, or someone else was caring for him. Jmo.

It was just a thought dyanna. I don’t think Jacob’s is a stereotypical case of abuse. I suspect it’s more complex (and tragic) than even Baby Bella’s, if that’s possible.

Please, the sound on the presser was poor for me and I haven't read any transcript.

In the presser the detective says Little Jacob's body shows signs of ............ and abuse, however the signs of abuse do/are not......... ????

I would be grateful if anyone can report exactly what was said here. TIA.

What a little cutie!
So sad he still doesn't have his name back!

Sorry if this has been asked/answered, but has isotope analysis been done on him?

I didn't watch the presser, but I think the statement made was in the NBC article:

The child’s body did show signs of neglect and injuries consistent with abuse. However, none of the injuries appeared to be fatal.”

Thank you for that info. x So his COD is still not confirmed then.

What would be the likely next step in finding the COD? Would the investigation of this (COD) be considered a priority?

It depends on suspected COD. ME would have a few different hypotheses re COD. Testing methodology would be based on balance of probabilities (and availability of funding/facilities), ie; first, tox screen done/in progress. It’s not known if the results of those are in. If negative, the next most likely COD will be investigated. It’s a narrowing down process, ie; excluding CODs. There would already be some CODs excluded based on condition of remains/PM, ie; no visible wounds, skull fractures, signs of strangulation, drowning, etc. Although I have some years of biomedical/medical science and forensic training (in the early 2000s) I am not a professional.

I'm thinking that whoever did this to him didn't have a big circle of friends so he wasn't known to many people. The people who did know him are perhaps his family and they don't want to come forward because it means someone in their family will be in trouble with the law. Perhaps whoever did this has threatened others not to talk.

Or, if there is a wider circle of friends/family, they might not be watching the news and haven't seen the picture.

I'm sure I'm voicing what others have already posted along the way. I'm popping into the thread after not following it except at the very beginning of the case.

So sad and frustrating that he is without his name.

Person claims if you go down the beach I guess from where Little Jacob was found there is a boarded up house where others were abused. She claims relative is a medium. I would definitely look at this house if it indeed exists and not just in this person's mind. Someone else asked for coordinates on the exact location Little Jacob was found.

Thank you. I must say I am skeptics but Lyssav will know if such a house exists.

Like Karlie & little Khandalyce, no one even knew they were missing.

That is such a sad testimonial on our society today. In the age where everything is at our fingertips, people are still falling through the cracks.

The fact that he was circumcised makes me think he was born here. Don’t know if other countries circumcise their males like we do. ( well, Israel?)

Most of the children I teach are Latino, I found myself studying them today and was really surprised how many of them have that baby hair low on their foreheads!

Oh K&K’s ‘fall through the cracks’ was by design, not by accident. Trial coming up soon so can’t say more. Read their thread, if interested.

Yes, people have said that. It might be an idea to look up SA countries where circumcision is ‘customary’.

Oh, I love olive-skinned, brown-eyed, dark-haired children. We have a lot of former asylum seekers from Lebanon and Turkey, among other ME/Mediterranean countries, who have settled in Australia and their children’s eyes melt my heart. So warm.
