TX - Grandmother Lisa Campbell-Goins Charged w Medical Abuse ( Munchausen by proxy) Against 7 yr old Granddaughter January 2025

This is an awful case of child abuse, but I also wonder if the doctors who approved any treatments should have said no, had suspicions they failed to report, should be held responsible for their roles?

She didn't put the feeding tube in herself. She didn't provide $600,000 in treatments paid by Medicare all by herself.

Where were the checks and balances that should have protected this child? Why was she given custody; was her history known? If not, why not? JMO.

*Oh Grandma, How could you?
And she had previously overmedicated her own son back in '99. So how on earth did anyone think it was a good idea for grandma to have this girl? Apparently the custodial arrangement wasn't a legal court authorized one so maybe the girl's mother had a drug problem, was incarcerated, had mental health issues and the child just was abandoned with grandma and nothing was ever formalized?

G'ma didn't have custody so I don't get how the doctors/hospital involved her at all and didn't investigate the g'mother and look for her parents and/or legal guardian.
Also was the other g'mother in contact with her and their granddaughter and was the step-son(?) in contact?
This poor child has been with this abuser since birth and no one paid attention?
The woman has a documented record.

Was the state involved and did g'mother get financial help for her granddaughter and if so who oversaw the case?

"Monthly TANF payments for the grandchild only, or ● Monthly TANF payments for both the grandparent and grandchild. Grandparents don't need to have custody or guardianship of the child to apply for these benefits. However, they must be related to the child and be caring for the child in their home.

Indeed, 'Birds, indeed.
Hoping this horror will be thoroughly examined and that the person who perpetrated this will be charged accordingly.
That's all I can say for now.

This is my own experience, but I worked with a 3-year-old who I suspected was a victim of attention-seeking behavior by a narcissistic mom. Later it was essentially proven she had an unnecessary g-tube. But it’s very hard to prove. The mom said she couldn’t eat and would only choke. I believe Mom overfed the toddler before doctors would see her. She would try to eat and she’d vomit. She didn’t lose weight, which would certainly happen if a child truly could not eat. I don’t know why they’d place the g-tube when she wasn’t underweight. But it’s very rare for a caregiver to lie about these things, so doctors err on the side of believing them, in my experience.

The documents state her stepson claims Campbell-Goins falsified his symptoms when he was a teenager so he would be on higher doses of ADHD medication and that she would also give him some of his father’s medication.

Campbell-Goins was also under official DFPS investigation in 1999 when she was caught telling doctors her son had vomited at the hospital when he had not. Her then-husband also reported he came to believe she was inducing illness in her son and over-medicating him.

This investigation was closed after Campbell-Goins took parenting classes. She also says she was tested for “Munchausen by Proxy” in 1999 but claimed she didn’t have it.

For in-depth information on these allegations, feel free to read the court documents in their entirety below:

In reading Goins FB posts and seeing this beautiful little girl so obviously so sick and suffering I am livid about what she did to this child. IF Lisa's posts are to be believed this child had a portion of her colon removed and was put on a colostomy bag, two different feeding tubes (g-tube and GJ tube). Months and months and months this baby was consistently medically harmed by her grandmother.
