Child , deviant acts investigation continues in Hailey Dunn case

The fire and recovery efforts may put the investigation into the Hailey Dunn's disappearance case on hold.

Authorities say the blaze has caused a delay in search efforts. City Manager, Pete Kampfer, says the areas affected by the fire are not key places in the investigation.

"We'll not be able to get access to a lot of the areas, because they're still on fire and we're still putting out flare-ups and fire of that kind of nature", said Kampfer.

Kampfer also added that the fire cleared some brush, so it may actually be easier to search areas in the Hailey Dunn case.

With flames still burning, and hot spots still flaring up, the investigation will have to wait, while residents try to take in and assess their losses.

Hailey Dunn's Father: 'I'm The Voice For My Daughter'

Hailey Dunn, a 13-year-old eighth-grader, hasn't been seen since Dec. 27, and Clint Dunn misses her.
“I just miss it all,” he said. “I miss her face. There’s no one particular thing; I miss her companionship.”
The ordeal, he said, has also made him stronger, and he has reason to be strong – for his daughter.
“I realize I’m the voice for my daughter,” he said.

Just two days after the mother of missing Colorado City teen, Hailey Dunn, canceled a live web chat, she agreed to speak on an internet radio show about her daughter.

Billie continued to say although she's still not 100% sure nothing happened between Shawn and Hailey the day she went missing, she is still in contact with him.

Searchers are asking for volunteers to help them look Friday and Saturday mornings for missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn. They're expecting 30 soldiers from Fort Hood to help search on Saturday.

Adkins: "Child isn't Mine"

Adkins denies the child found by investigators belongs to him, and as he told blogtalkradio.com he believes he will one day be proven innocent of this, and of any involvement in the teen's disappearance.

"I'm worried sick about it, there's a possibility I might be going to jail for something I never did," said Adkins.

"I hope that the grand jury does the right thing, which is to clear me."

ABILENE, Texas -- Missing for more than two months, the search for Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn got more help Saturday when a couple dozen Fort Hood soldiers joined the search.

“We are very grateful for them,” Kristy Lloyd, search coordinator said.

Searcher Bill Markuans agreed. “It's an extreme amount of help to have them out there."

Hope For Hailey At Rattlesnake Roundup

Hailey's dad handed out fliers and raised money this weekend at the Rattlesnake Roundup.

Clint Dunn knew with 40,000 people expected to be at the event it was a great place to get his missing daughter's name out there.

"The Rattlesnake Roundup brings a lot of people and we're just trying touch as many people as we can with Hailey's story," Dunn said.

Authorities Cease Regular Searches for Hailey Dunn

According to Colorado City city manager Pete Kampfer, law enforcement is out looking for her only on a "need-be basis."* If there are crews available or if there is an area where investigators need to look at, they will search it, he added.

COLORADO CITY, Texas -- Shawn Adkins, the boyfriend of missing Texas teen Hailey Dunn’s mother, Billie Dunn, and one of the only two suspects in Hailey’s disappearance, was asked during an online radio talk show if he’d ever said he could kill someone and that no one would ever find the body.

The Mitchell County District Attorney's Office tells KTAB's Michelle Ashworth that Billie Dunn will face three charges: hindering apprehension or prosecution, possession of dangerous drugs and false report to a police officer.

We're told the drugs in question were prescription drugs without a proper prescription.Howard County went to the home in an attempt to serve a search warrant of Shawn Adkins' body.

Scurry County is in the process of serving a search warrant for Adkins' grandmother's home in Dunn.
