TX - Hanna Mack, 6, raped & murdered, Navarro Mills, 10 Sept 2007

Nothing new here except that CPS has taken custody of the other two girls in the home and they are living with an aunt.

I wonder why the girls were removed from the home? I mean, they now know that the crime was committed by anyone who lived at the home. It was by some crazy neighbors. I suppose it's possible the neighbor might have molested her over a period of time and killed her on this particular day, but it seems unlikely given that the police didn't even suspect him at first. Also, it's a stretch to say that the mother should have known the neighbor would do this to her child. I suppose there is more going on behind the scenes...but I just find it very strange. Look at the VanDams with there swinging lifestyle...there other children weren't removed because of their lifestyle (I am not suggesting that they should have been).

If it was the mother's boyfriend, I could understand taking them out of the home. I know the mother's boyfriend had child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his computer and that is not the ideal father figure, but he's still in jail and/or has charges against him.

I wonder if the mother will take back the boyfriend...I mean her daughter was brutally murdered, the other daughters taken away, I imagine she must be feeling very lost and alone...and could fall for the old "the police were trying to pin it on me so they planted the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬."

All my questions are somewhat irrelevant to the case, but just sad all the way around.

Gosh, I have been away from this thread and did not see that the neighbor boy had been arrested and not the live-in boyfriend. I had not formerly been convinced that it was the boyfriend, but certainly the evidence was stacking up against him.

My continued prayers for these families.

bumping the thead, wondering if there is any more information.

I've done a search and it seems the last news was when the neighbor was arrested. I guess we have to wait for a hearing before there will be any more news.

The neighbor has been indicted with capital murder, along with other unrelated charges. Teh mom's boyfriend has still not been ruled out, until DNA evidence is returned from lab. I live 25 minutes away from this town, and graduated from the school that Hannah went to. It is just awful for something like this to happen, and scary to be so close to home. I have a 4, almost 5 year old, and I could not imagine what this family is going through. I also work with the mother's ex-husband who had a child with her, her oldest daughter.
I do follow this case closely for any developing information.

Thank you so much for the update! I have been wondering if the mom's boyfriend is totally off the hook.

This is old but interesting.

When he was questioned on Wednesday, the 26th of September about how his DNA was found on the scene, Shaun Arender refused to talk, choosing instead to put his head down on the table in front of him and cry.

Shaun Arender cut himself with a piece of glass two days before the DNA match was made and was taken to the hospital.

When asked why he did it, Mr. Arender said he cut himself because he was depressed.

Shaun Arender’s family has apologized for his behavior.

Lowetta Conkle, Arender’s Aunt, stated, “I apologize for him, I want to kill him, but I apologize for him.”

I don't think these links have been posted:

Arender defense enters evidence motions

The defense team for Shaun Earl Arender, the man accused of the Sept. 10 sexual assault and hanging death of 6-year-old Hanna Mack, entered a motion to preserve evidence connected with the case, a motion heard in a pre-trial hearing Monday.
It was a hearing that saw the defense call the county’s district attorney, sheriff and chief deputy to testify as Arender’s lawyers hammered local law enforcement for the Oct. 16 destruction of the two-car garage/barn at the Mack home that was torn down.
Mark Griffith, a Waxahachie attorney with Griffith & Associates, is defending Arender along with local attorney Kerri Anderson Donica.
Griffith decried the destruction of the crime scene, which was ordered by the property’s owner, as a hindrance to his ability to present a strong defense for his client.
“My hands have already been tied,” Griffith said about the building being torn down. “I don’t want my feet to be tied, too, and my eyes blindfolded.”

From the last link I posted:

In a related matter, Navarro County Sheriff’s Office officials said Wednesday they are still waiting on the DNA test results connected with Kevin Wayne Anders, the man first named as the primary suspect in the Hanna Mack murder case. NCSO officials have yet to officially rule Anders out as a possible participant in the murder.

Anders remains in Navarro County Justice Center jail on possession of child pornograhy charges in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Arenders is also in the same jail. His bond is set at $2.5 million.

My hinky meter is still up on Anders. Something just doesn't feel right here. Maybe Anders had the little girl sleep on the couch and let Arenders in. I wonder where that camera stick is and why it is missing???? Just a few questions I have in my mind.

I agree with you Tranaice... 100%! I do believe that the boyfriend is a factor in this case. JMO. I believe it was all a set up, he wanted it done, maybe afraid the girl was about to tell on him. Therefore, he had this done and couldn't do it himself so he got the neighbor boy to do it so that he would be accounted for in bed with Dana, the mom. I don't know if any of you read the 911 transcript because it's very interesting. At one point, the boyfriend was on the phone with dispatch and made a comment to Dana to some affect 'the boy down the road'. So, that tells me, he was trying to cover himself up, by throwing that in there. Also, one of the sisters was heard in the background, something to the affect "why did you make her sleep on the couch, you knew she was scared". My quotes may not be exact, but it gets my point out there. I will do some research to find that transcript. I'm at work right now for another hour and a half, then I'm off tomorrow, so unfortunately I wont be able to chat with you tomorrow, but definitely Monday. Hopefully I can find something today.

Not looking good for Mr. Anders...

omg....reminded me of Darlie Routier's famous, 'if I hadn't touched the knife, the cops may have gotten prints.":banghead:

:doh:Ander's admits his DNA was on Hanna because he said he'd touched her leg. He is the worst of all child abusers. I hope he rots in ****.

Over 11 months since her murder... and this is being kept quiet. Usually there are updates on these trials... so far this is the only thing since the end of December on the Mach murder.
