lol That... we don't know yet! It's a bit unclear if they just questioned him and let him go about his business and go back home or not. I wouldn't think they would? but then it doesn't say they detained him or anything like that, so who knows.

His mom was reported to have shown up at his home saying police had called her saying he'd been arrested. I'm sure they would've taken him in straight from the Target store, and held him at least for questioning until they went to check out his house. Considering he said the baby in the photo was the same baby that was at his house, I would hope police would've towed his vehicle in for forensic examination?

That said however, is it normal for police to call the parent of a thirty-something year old man if he is taken in for questioning/arrest? I could see if CG called his mom himself, but not police? Was that another rumor?

Whew, got caught up using the Media thread. Now I can read up here. Of course, I have lots of questions and thoughts that will plague me for days, but the bolded section below will really be on my mind. How did MF get Heidi to come downstairs just holding the baby in her arms? What did Heidi think was going to happen...did she think they were just going to talk in the car or drive within the complex? If MF was driving, then how did she restrain Heidi from leaving the car as soon as she sensed danger? This latest info really angers me...all the planning MF did to kill her long time friend and steal her baby. Absolutely heartbreaking.

It's pretty much impossible to take a baby from the hospital, but, I do think that was probably MF's plan - to take Heidi's from the hospital. I think it would be easier if you have a reason to be there though.

I could be wrong, but when he said it was off, he actually doesn't know it was off, but it went to VM. This could be for any number of reasons, being turned off, being out of range, in airplane mode, or the call could have even been rejected.

When I first read it I took it to mean that it was an active phone number/account. I guess it could have meant the phone was literally turned on, but I don't know how T-Mobile would know if someone's phone is off or on? If it was on at that time and it pinged anywhere, you can bet that LE knows this already and has tried to locate the phone... remember on the 20th, it was reported that LE was searching many spots between Austin and Houston. They also put an emergency continuous ping on her phone, getting updates every 15 minutes... I would hope that in those 48 hours that someone actually tried to call/text in the hopes that it would ping if it was indeed "on".

In the news report, they say that a woman showed up and said authorities told her that her son was in custody. No mention of them calling her. Maybe she saw something on the news and went there? Maybe she was showing up that day to visit the baby? or her son?

I actually read that part twice earlier, recalling that Shane went to T-Mobile earlier that day in hopes to get some phone records too. Looks like APD was able to put the emergency ping on around 5pm on Friday, no indication of when they got phone records or call detail records.

I've wondered if it was long-simmering resentment over time that came to a head when HB got pregnant and MF didn't.

No, MF wasn't pregnant. Yes, CG apparently believed the baby was his. He said her stomach felt "hard," but they had broken up in Mar 2019 so he did not see her undress (still living together but not as a couple).

IIRC, Heidi and SC had broken up and got back together a couple of times - maybe back together last time because HB was pregnant - I do not know this to be fact. Anyway, maybe sparked an idea in MF's mind.
