I would hope that they aren't having a viewing since they couldn't VISUALLY ID the "body in the trunk" as Heidi. That's why they did the DNA.
As for the DOD on the Obit, they have the date that she was found. The date that it was made concrete proof to the family that they had lost Heidi. They will get the "official" DOD once the autopsy and toxicology reports are released and they have the exact DOD, but currently to release that information would be giving to much information out to the public. IF they were to put the REAL date on the cert and obit then it would cause a LOT of details to come out about the case that they don't want out yet.
I keep hearing that there has been a 2nd person taken into custody for this and yet there isn't anything being reported, there is only the report of the friend.
They are keeping everything close to the vest and that could be a good thing. I only hope that in court things go well. I have heard that there is video evidence so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I thought Heidi's mother identified her and the DNA was to identify Margo as her daughter.

I do think it is weird. However, I can also see that maybe her family wanted people to see how many people loved and cared about her and came out to honour her. After days of global media about her rotten relationship, and various rumours, etc----it is nice to focus on those that loved her and miss her and want to pay their respects. JMO

The reporters kplc has on the street are so young and fresh, from a totally different generation. They don’t see it the way we do. I totally think it’s ridiculous also, but I think the family probably really didn’t care at this point. The least of their worries. Looks like they got pretty ripped on Facebook for doing it though.

Not sure as to what you mean by "young" and "fresh" unless you mean under 30. I'm 38 myself and idk, maybe it's just how I was raised. But, I can see what some of the others have said. They want to show how much Heidi was loved by others. In a way it shows they are a united front as they are there as a family unit with Shane and the kids as well and no one is out in the cold so to say.

A public viewing for Heidi Broussard begins in about 15 minutes in Lake Charles, LA. We’re live at 5 on @KVUE as Heidi’s friends and family begin two days of remembering her.

I have a different perspective. Whatever the family wants to do with a funeral service works for me. Private, public, etc. I know the SWatts and babies' parents even had a streamed funeral.
At this time they've got public support on FB and so maybe they wanted to make it more public...? Ok, I'm just guessing.
I just saw her 9 minute memorial video on the funeral home page. It was really nice.
Only child... :(

uhm...am I the only one that finds it disrespectful to stream a Funeral/wake/visitation on TV?? Even just reporting from outside the funeral home or interviewing someone INSIDE the funeral home?? SMH I think I have lost faith in all humanity.

it is a little odd, but remember that HB is quite young- she has a lot of friends and unlike with older folks, most of her friends are probably still alive and a lot of them probably have children. I looked it up: Lake Charles is 4.5 hrs from Austin, so maybe not easy for all her friends and family to attend, but HB has, overnight, become a public figure, so maybe it is just easier for many if they can watch video footage. Sad.

My Dad was a defense attorney, and as kids we were confused, when we realised he was working for 'the bad guys.'

He would carefully explain to us that our Justice System is based upon a profound principal.

EVERY single defendant will be given a robust, fair, impartial advocate, so that they can have a fair and just trial, and not be assumed Guilty just because of what the state sets forth.

We have all seen cases here where one person seems to be undeniably the guilty party, and then more facts come in, from the defense, and they are eventually cleared.

I am glad when I see a robust defense, unless of course it is dishonest and deceitful... *cough..Jose
Baez...*cough....

lol @ "the bad guys".

Even the worst offender has rights and some defendants are innocent so be proud of your dad. :)

I thought it was inappropriate to do the interview in the church. Are you saying the service was streamed? I don't find that disrespectful. Shannan & her babies' funeral was streamed, I think (didn't see it) and I'd rather see Heidi's funeral than someone like John McCain (or any politician).

Can absolutely support having pride in the justice system. It just sounds odd to say proud to represent a person like MF. Even Patrick Frazee's attorney said his client was an idiot.

Was it Brock doing the interviews?

They had someone stream from outside the funeral home as the people went in. I guess it went for an hour on the Heidi Broussard facebook group. I hear they had permission, but still, it's one of those times that a family wants their peace and solace. To me, it seems to be a violation of said solace and privacy and takes away from their grieving

Ah, just read on and saw this. If someone streamed without the family's permission, that would be terrible. With permission, I can understand because of the high profile nature of what happened. I'm so sorry for them to have been thrust into the spotlight like this but, I think, they're aware that there's a huge outpouring of love for all of them.

She did? I hadn't read that. :(

I agree @katydid23 as we saw this with Shan’ann and the girls services live streamed.

HB had a large following at Cracker Barrel which I understand can be a loyal, aged crowd. She was also said active in her church and had already taken Margo to worship in Austin.

God Bless the family! And each of us! I cannot send enough light for everyone but hope remains. Always!

Just so heartbroken for Heidi and her parents and Heidi's babies all over again.
What a wasteful, senseless loss.

And to think this perp never expressed wanting children of her own.

A friend 'people dreamed of': Heidi Broussard remembered in hometown
[…]

"She loved listening to music, singing and dancing," her obituary says. "Her spirit brightened every room she entered, her smile and laughter brightened the day and her heart and guidance lifted countless many. Even as a child, Heidi was the welcoming friend, the neighborhood 'herd of kids' place to gather. She had a servant’s heart, and everyone was her 'best friend.'"

One of Broussard's best friends, RP, has known her since she was born.

"Our friendship was the kind of friendship that people dream of it's one of those ones that you could not see each other for days, months, and when we saw each other again, it was like we never left each other," Powell said.

[…]

Comments from around the world flooded an online guestbook, with people writing in from North Carolina to Australia.

[…]

"Heidi also had overwhelming faith in the Lord and 'saw God as Love.' During her younger years, she was an active member of Abundant Life Fellowship, church camp and youth group," the obituary says. "She was a member of Life Church of Austin and found comfort in raising Silas in the church and had already attended her first Sunday with Margo."

I can understand knowing everyone, I live in a town like that, but to broadcast such a sad thing honestly feels disrespectful. IDK maybe I'm just an old soul that doesn't feel like that's an appropriate thing.

I agree 100%! I thought the same thing with the Watts funerals. It was bizarre, but I admit I watched about 15 seconds of it. I’ve also never understood why some people take pictures during a funeral...

Hey there, this is what our article says: "Heidi Broussard was found dead in Fieramusca's car at a Houston-area home on Dec. 19. Her cause of death was deemed ligature strangulation."

9:12 AM - 27 Dec 2019
I have seen two arrests reported by some media outlets. Do you think it is “two” but both Magan. Her name was Humphry in one county then Fieramusca
