I totally agree. The biggest thing for me isn’t “if she would do that,” it’s “if she could do that without leaving a trace.”They didn't disappear. Somebody "disappeared" them, IMHO. LE is looking for clues, but not sharing all of them with us. They'll be checking cell phone/cell tower records, video from homes and businesses in the area, neighbors, etc. I always say this: With rare exception, a woman does not voluntarily leave her home for an extended period of time without taking a few essentials, including her purse, her phone, house/apt. keys, and her car/car keys for starters. If she is planning to be away for two days or more, she'll pack a bag with a change of clothes or three and some toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, makeup, etc.) If she is going for a walk, she will carry her keys and probably her cell phone. A mother of a newborn would not leave without baby supplies. MOO
I know he showed the books, I was wondering how the poster knows they are the reason LE knows she was there. In an interview they did in the apartment. Shane showed the books.
i'm wondering if "last seen on foot" might have been because shane might have said she walked over to a friends house during his call to LE.?Police say she did.
In one of his interviews he says their son is 6.
Only indication is from his interview saying she didn't lock it.
I'm not sure that is the case. The initial emergency reverse 911 alert that went out said she was last seen on foot at the apartments. Hasn't been confirmed by LE - but anyone with access to her and her car could have brought the books, her belongings etc. into the apartment.
The fact that they rattled him so much by having a reporter on a phone, which he could not hear, asking questions, then the other reporter and cameraman both interrupting the interview and his train of thought various times. Something was going on behind the camera as well, which disrupted him. I don't think anyone could have had a well put together interview under those circumstances. IMO whoever was in charge should have stopped the interview and rescheduled it at a time when the reporter could actually have been on scene and the news station got their sh|t together. Why was it’s screwed up? It didn’t seem the least bit unprofessional to me. In what way? I’ve been interviewed before a couple times and it seems a bit typical. What do you think they did so badly it was beyond the pale?
Their questions were benign and softball too.
@dixiegirl1035, suggest sending PM to Mod to check out your excellent suggestions!Well, it's been published what cities they lived in and I would think that sleuthing that and mentioning would be okay on the threads would it not?

Yeah. I think this is why law enforcement is so confident that she made it back alive and well (books and car aside).Interesting. This seems to be pretty specific - she was spotted on foot, not 'her car was last seen driving into...'. That means LE has at least one video sighting or eye witness.
I do not recall any reports of her having been seen on foot at the apartments after the school run.
Thank you so much for doing this. I snipped some off for focus-Transcript of Austin Police Department press conference Dec. 17, 2019:
Reporter2: …<unintelligible> … that Heidi left on her own?
Det. Herries: It's possible that the Heidi and Margot have left on their own accord. It's also possible that there may be something nefarious or foul play involved, and to be honest, we don't know the answer to that question, and that's what we're continuing to work on as we speak right now.
--------------------------------
Reporter8: You say that there you're still searching for her, you still assume that she is alive at this point like but the baby as well?
Det. Herries: At this time we have no reason to believe that Marty, that Margot nor Heidi are harmed. We are still looking for them in a in a search and recovery manner with them being alive. Our assumption is that they're alive and the sooner that we can find them, the better, that's why again we asked for the community's assistance, for the public's assistance, and if you see either of them, or have any information related to Margot or Heidi and their whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding their past five days, we ask that you contact the Austin Police Department.
It was confirmed from media their apartment was in lock down. We had assumed last night it was but now we know for sure.
Well, technically all we really know is Shane showed books and said they were the books. In an interview they did in the apartment. Shane showed the books.

I don't recall hearing anything about her on foot or a reverse 911 call. Can someone provide a link?Interesting. This seems to be pretty specific - she was spotted on foot, not 'her car was last seen driving into...'. That means LE has at least one video sighting or eye witness.

Makes me wonder if someone wasn't watching her and Shane's routine.
I listened to Nancy Grace’s Crime Stories podcast yesterday about Heidi and Margo and she said that he DID go to the friend’s to check if she was there. I think she has her facts wrong because I haven’t seen that anywhere. Has anyone seen any news story saying he actually went to the friend’s apartment?Yup. So much talk about how he went searching for keys and showed up at T-Mobile, but all he has to say about the friend is he thought she went there. Uh, ok? Did you call the friend? Did you knock on the door and ask if they’d seen Heidi and your 2 week old baby?
that information is all missing along with the the period of time from when he (supposedly) got home from work to the time he placed a 911 call.
