Baby would be pretty easy.
As far as HB, here are some possibilities that spring to mind:
  • Luggage
  • Boxes
  • Laundry basket
  • Large wastebasket/bin
  • Storage Chest
  • Cooler/Ice Chest
JMO.
Not caught up, so I am sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Because the apartment is located on an upper floor, my mind went immediately to a moving dolly. Wrap them up in a moving blanket, secure them to the dolly with ratchet straps, and you are good to go. Very much like the gentleman is doing in the video, starting around 5:00” :(:

That’s a great point SC and HB have a dog and living in an apartment it would need to go on walks. Wonder how that was handled all day?
Right? What a pita to have to go 3 flights of stairs with a newborn and a dog on a leash several times a day.
Wasn't the dog found on the balcony tho? So, maybe it goes outside there.

People move in and out of apartments almost daily. You wouldn’t bat an eye at moving materials.

Almost certainly not. In a city the size of Austin, if SWAT activity gets people this excited, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

It appears to be part of some sort of trafficking/prostitution bust.

Yeah, I agree!

Busy week here and loosely listening to this case.....

Mr. Boyfriend is definitely a piece of work....kinda like a mishmash of PF and CW. However, I am wondering about #3 here. Is it possible that she is in hiding with her baby because she feels either her life or the life of her baby is in danger? Reason is, I have work coming out of my ears going on here, but have Fox on as white noise. On Cavuto, it was just said that the police feel that "she is very much alive". Could she be hiding as a battered woman somewhere? Just askin…..
IMO, I also agree the boyfriend is quite a character and we have gone back and forth along the lines that he may be in shock or that he is a bad actor. As far as the police and that they “feel” she is somewhere is hard for me to digest. They are supposed to to work on facts and evidence and not feeling. They are also supporting the private search and according to MSM, the FBI is actively searching also. That appears to denote to me that they are leaving all possibilities open as they really do not yet know. JMO

On 3rd floor? Wouldn’t that leak on balcony below and make everything smell.

but probably wouldn’t be noticed if dog was left out there one day.

I can go along with that too! But I also don't think SHE THINKS her son is in danger, as he was technically left in a safe place for a period of time. Perhaps I should go back to sitting on my hands too? ;) Because IMHO, this one is pretty hinky for the info we have.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to have considered this as an option; many of us have.

Where it starts to fall apart, unfortunately (because I'd love for her to be hiding with the baby, safe somewhere) is that once the FBI and all these other agencies are involved, the person who is hiding would have gotten in touch and all the agencies would have called off the investigations. There is a lot at stake, and $$$$$$, with all of these agencies.

It's happened before where women have taken off with the kids, some or all of them, due to DV. But in those cases, LE calls off the searches. It has happened in 2 cases very recently, in fact. They just say "the woman left of her own accord, and all searches have concluded. There is nothing further at this time" - sort of thing.

“Coming up on @NBCNightlyNews, @SamBrockNBC's exclusive interview with two friends of Heidi Broussard, who, along with her baby girl, has been missing since last week.

ETA:
Heidi’s friend: “It needs to be known that she didn’t leave on her own. Heidi would have never left without her son.”
The second friend who speaks, and cries...She says, "We will find you..." This seems like genuine concern and is what you would expect a loved one to say and act like when they have a missing family member or friend. In my opinion only.

Four visits is very curious. I wonder what type of vehicle she has? Must have something of interest with that type.

This and FBI visiting neighboring apartments and asking if they can take a look inside reminds me of a ND case where the victim's neighbor desperately wanted a baby and befriended a pregnant woman in the complex -- killing the mother for the baby.

The dumpsters in my area are combed by recyclers constantly. I happen to have a view of one dumpster that must get ten or more people a day digging through it. Just wondering if that's the case around those apartments?

Texas is funny - we don't have places you can go drop off recycling for cash unless it's scrap metal and that place is not accessible to people without cars. We have single stream recycling here for residential customers, so there's not a need for that.

However, you do have me wondering about the recycling. Their trash pickup was on the 17th, so was their compost. Recycle pickup isn't until Christmas Eve.

I would say it depends on the setup. idk tho. I have 2 large dogs and there is nothing that would work for a patio setup. But maybe something for a smaller one?

Texas DOT website has links to traffic cameras in Austin - looks like pretty extensive coverage on highways.

I live at the end of a cul-de-sac and have a camera that catches the comings and goings of everyone on the street - if someone were to abduct, or dispose of, one of my neighbors, and go undetected, they'd have to do everything via an alley, and I recently noticed that some telecom equipment on a pole in the alley is protected with a camera.

I just don't see how anyone could transport a person, or persons, in an urban area and not be tracked. Makes me wonder if that's the reason for the door-to-door search in the immediate area of the apartment complex - like if LE has seen enough footage to feel that they never left the area.

Welllll they didn't say a search would be useful. They said civilians wouldn't necessarily be helpful and if they needed us they'd ask.
BBM “In the meantime, community members are planning a search for Heidi and Margot this weekend. Organizer Sarra tells us people are on standby and prepared to help.

However, Austin Police say at this time, a community-led search will likely not help them and they will request assistance if needed.”

FBI asking to search homes near missing mother, newborn apartment

So the question remains what is it about this case that makes police want to discourage the community from searching? How do they know that it wouldn’t help them?

Journalism just stinks. The opportunity to ask questions that several reporters had when interviewing Shane flabbergasts me.

They need to come here prior to interviewing, we'll give them a bullet point list and pointers :D

100%. Unless all those interviews happened on the same day, wth?

Not one question about the missing hours between 2-6. Not one question about whether she suffered depression, was acting strangely or took medication. Not one question about who typically picked up their son and how he thought he was getting home before he picked him up. Not one question about whether he went to or contacted the neighbor he believed she might have been visiting. Nothing about whether she may have had contact with anyone who was overly interested in her or the baby. Nothing about whether she stated her plans for the day or whether she was planning to meet with anyone for any purpose.

So many un-asked questions.

I think the dog was decent sized from pics I saw. But yes, I suppose it’s possible they had some setup (poor dog, imo)

I’d still like to know what SC has to say about the dog though.

Except if I was doing something criminal and nefarious, every person I passed would want to know what I’m doing, where I’m going, how long I’ve lived in the apartment, get invited over for drinks and cards. That’s my luck. OTOH, if I was in dire straights and needed help, people would walk by me like I’m invisible. Lol

Thanks. Very moving clips.

Sure sounds like her current friends are absolutely convinced that she would never, as they clearly state, leave on her own.
