If I were the police, I would be going down a list of statistically likely events and putting all the resources available into that. Lesser probabilities (such as some weirdo wanting an insta-family - when did that ever happen?) that are nearly impossible to investigate would be much further down my list.

The apartment complex is Club at Summer Valley. The gates are not staffed, are rudimentary, and basically just keep unwanted cars out. There is a fence about 6 feet high encompassing the entire set of buildings (which is pretty large). I too would be really surprised if many residents have security cameras.

If she fled on foot to start a better life, not taking her essentials and her car with carseat base or her son, and hand carrying a 2 week old and not much else, I'll eat my hat.

If she did do that, she was in the throes of something like PPP.

The State of TX now has a CLEAR Alert System available for use by LE. Its interesting that in this case that neither the CLEAR or Amber Alert Systems have been activated.

CLEAR:
TxDPS - CLEAR Alert

AMBER:
TxDPS - Amber Alert

Hi, this is my first Webslueths post. I was just informed I shouldn't have posted what I did about a FB so I edited. I hope this beautiful Mother and baby are found safe.

If you were under the microscope, here, you'd get grilled about how if this is your fist post, then how did you post something from FB earlier. Ha! Just pointing that out so people will take into consideration that we don't always speak precisely and it's completely innocent.

Welcome, Megan and, yeah, take all social media with a giant block of salt. As you can see, even media isn't much better than the telephone game.

I was living with my wife for 7 years before we married. Marriage is fairly terrifying to some men under 40. I still think waiting was a smart choice for us. Idk
Meant to reply to Mimosamornings

I’m a female and way older than 40. I still find marriage terrifying.:p

I don't know a ton about the CLEAR Alert, but it doesn't meet the criteria of an Amber Alert.

Ummm, I would say baby in first. There's always the 'what if' you got injured carrying bags in the apartment while the baby was still in a hot or freezing car....
I never had to take a baby up a flight of steps though...
Absolutely baby in first - IMO. I have two kids and one is quite little, and I’d never leave her in the car especially not if I was living in an apartment (further distance time between kid/car).

It’s also been pretty warm here in ATX (it was 82 on Sunday, for example - although freezing today) and no way do you leave baby in the car. At least I wouldn’t.

Ita.
LE do not want to frighten off the abductor.
And Heidi's boyfriend seems to believe strongly that she was kidnapped. And did not leave of her own accord.
He may be right !

And any activity or sense of urgency on LE's part could cause the kidnapper to harm Heidi or the baby .
So they (LE) need to take it slow and steady and not appear to be threatening or in an interrogating mood... like; "We're coming after you !"
That wouldn't be wise at this time.

Hoping for better news tomorrow !

I think it's the opposite, no statements by LE keeps everyone wondering what direction they are going in and gives everyone involved enough rope to hang themselves.

Missing Austin mother and newborn: what we know so far
[…]

According to Austin Police, detectives are actively working the case and haven't been able to step away to give on-camera interviews.

Volunteer agency, Texas Search and Rescue says they have not been called to assist in the search. "Quite often when they get a narrowed search area or someplace where they can apply those assets that's when we'll be called in," says TEXSAR Vice President Brandon Goering.

[…]

Despite silence from law enforcement, he's confident investigators are leaving no stone unturned. "This is different in that it seems that there are a lot of details that law enforcement is exploring that rightfully so isn't privy to the general public," says Goering.

Monday evening, CBS Austin spoke with Heidi's mother Tammy over the phone. Tammy says she's in Austin actively searching for Heidi and Margot -- she says despite social media speculation there have been no changes in the case.

[…]

CBS Austin will bring the latest updates from the media briefing on-air and online.

I am wondering if Margo had a 2 week well check. Here, they are seen week 1 and/or week 2-

Classic look here not there maneuver. Seen that a thousand times or so. It just doesn't make sense that not one time does he offer an account for the 2-6 time period. I mean, he told us what time he drinks water in the morning on waking. Really?

This IMO is the most upsetting part of that interview. He literally gets so overwhelmed when he came to that part of his timeline that he got up and walked off camera saying he wanted to appear natural. Like what???!!! Your fresh out of the oven newborn baby is missing and all you care about is looking natural on tv? How could anyone possibly look natural or CARE about looking natural in those circumstances. This guy is off.

Im new to this thread, but I have been following along with the media. My tiny meter is on high alert. MOO

Admittedly, I have only skimmed a few posts and seen bits of msm. I am wondering if anyone thinks she was targeted to kidnap the baby. If she had a regular schedule bringing her child to school daily someone could have befriended her at the school and followed her home. If she opened the door to someone she recognized that could explain the door being left open....

I just have a gut feeling someone wanted that baby and may have harmed Heidi to get the infant. Especially being a newborn.

It's a possibility and baby trafficking is big business. Some said this apt complex is right by the freeway, too, which makes a getaway a lot faster.

I have to say that I'm intrigued by these responses. Has nobody here ever taken leftovers home from a restaurant and heated them later? Maybe the daycare has a fridge.
Well it is public elementary school and they definitely do not have refrigerators for kids’ lunches. So whatever was in the lunchbox was unrefrigerated for 11-12 hours. I would never heat that up and feed it to my kid! Gross! However my husband probably would as he seems to not believe in food born illnesses. I’m not alarmed by him grilling the leftovers for his son because well, he’s a man (jk), and he could have been upset about the situation and just done whatever was available and easy when his kid was hungry.

I noticed in the RAW video that not only was he laughing at times, but while laughing, his eyes even looked a little sparkly. During times when I've been in the throes of grief, my face is more crumpled than sparkly, and that seems typical of grieving people, IMO...

The lady who writes at Eyes for Lies calls this Duper’s Delight. They think they are getting away with whatever they did, and they are joyful over the idea of fooling people.

Speaking of Eyes for Lies, she has a blog post about him. Not sure if linking is allowed but you can just google if interested in her take.

They can usually barely hold their heads up and certainly aren't concerned about how they're being perceived by the media.

Has anything been mentioned about a lie detector test?

This part is worth watching again: 10:58 to 11:20.

11:20-11:26 is particularly interesting where he laughs when being asked about when he saw her last, and then has to stop. He's laughing and said he's distracted.

11:40 he laughs when he says "that's the last time I spoke to..." and laughs again, because he doesn't know what to call her.

Then he says he can't keep talking because "I can't be professional.. I'll have to call you back. You're making me nervous. I just wanna be natural." You can tell he's afraid of being stumped up with his story.

When the person on the phone asks "What do you want to say to Heidi? He doesn't say "I love you" or "We love you" when asked what he would say to her (tho he says it at the very end); eventually he gets distracted and asks others to get in contact with him.

"Drop her off on my doorstep" - bizarre
"Any support - any old friends - share, post, like..." <- such an odd thing to say.

If it was trash day, guaranteed the trash from that complex didn’t get taken to the dump. Wonder if LE has already sent trucks to haul the dumpsters to forensics “just in case”?

I hope you're right, but he didn't phone LE until 7:30 pm. Not sure when LE would have known he was looking in dumpsters "for keys" or the timeline on trash pick-up. I had hubby watch the video and he is better than I on spotting things. I thought he was basically believeable, there were real tears shed (not sure for whom though), he didn't buy what he was selling. I felt the explanation of the $25 for books troubling.
