No link, just watching, but retired FBI agent on HLN thinks they are leaning towards abduction. Agent is concerned about the border being so close to where she lived--about 200 miles away.

Not sure how that makes sense. Snatching a white woman and newborn and hightailing it for the heavily guarded border? For what?

Maybe, though I've never done drugs so I couldn't say for sure. But what his account does strike me as, controlling. There was a LOT of checking in mentioned. That screams controlling to me which is a common thread in relationships where DV occurs. All conjecture on my part.

Not, necessarily, if LE has a POI in mind and if they (or the family) doesn't think they can keep it together so as not to blow the investigation.

bbm This is a great point.

Surely Will Dupree from KXAN would have mentioned that family were present if they were there. He was clammering for things to say to fill the dead air. All he said was that the press were waiting but had seen no one approach the podium. I think if the family were there at all, we'd know it from one of the news outlets there, if not APD themselves.

Smart observation.

The fact that there were no photos shown of them at all is odd, IMO. They would typically hold a large photo up, something...
ITA - i have never, repeat never, ever not even once, seen a presser when someone is missing that DID NOT have a photo. And that speaks volumes to me IMO. Great catch.

IF this involves DV, is it possible that Heidi had help in leaving, and if so, that she took her phone because there may have been texts or info on the contact, and was told to bring nothing else.
Then again....what about the son? And Id think whatever safe house she was in, would have contacted LE.
Does that complex have fire escapes that go out the back unseen? Maybe a helper was waiting for her in vehicle?
I don't know....grasping for straws...positive ones.

If homeless people hanging out there did something I’d expect they couldn’t have gotten far with two bodies. And other homeless people likely heard or saw someone struggling with two bodies or two live souls.

Maybe if there was previous domestic violence,
even if unreported or uncharged by LE, maybe
Heidi told her family or friends..."If anything ever happens to me look at __ as the perp."
Maybe that's why no family at presser. They know.

Okay, I missed about 50 pages. What happened and what, if anything has been revealed?

ITA. I remember how close LE (and Cheryl Berreth) played their cards in the Kelsey Berreth case. I think APD are not quite ready to name a POI until they have thoroughly processed evidence such as phone records.
Ita.
Exactly who I was thinking of.
I believe this is solveable.

But I'm sad for this lady and beautiful baby. :(
Feeling very depressed for Heidi and Margot.

Good catch about her making lunch, that's when he gets flustered and starts grinning, stumbling with his words and commenting how hard this is. I think he's trying to keep the interview going while trying to figure out how to fix what he let slip out. All MOO.
Bingo!!

I do, or did, think this a possibility. It would be a hope, in fact. Women have left with babies to avoid being extreme violence to themselves or to the baby.

Unfortunately, though, what messes up this likelihood is the live video of Shane with all of his major contradictions, lack of concern, laughing, lack of calling police until 7:30, touching the evidence (purse, etc) - all that strongly point to ...something else. :(

Having watched the press conference, suddenly, I feel overcome with so much sadness for Heidi, Margot and her big brother, S.

IMO, they are not expecting to find Heidi or Margot alive, and they never did; they had a very good idea of what most likely happened within the first few hours of the report being filed.

Heidi’s last Instagram post breaks my heart. Her son is literally clutching his mama. He loves her so much.

Knowing more than what we can say here - something LIKE that is possible. If someone paid someone to do something, that is. Not necessarily just abduct.
Certainly someone profiting from trafficking a woman and newborn baby wouldn’t also make questionably agitated/disapproving comments about $25 spent at the book fair?! I don’t know the going rate on woman/baby, but I bet it would have you not giving a rip about menial expenditures when you know you’re about to have a big payday.

Agreed.

Admittedly -- I'm curious about the homeless man that broke into their apartment and threatened SC.
According to what he said ?
Whaaaat?

I don't think she was trafficked. I meant, hypothetically - if someone paid to have her killed. (If I'm allowed to say that. My apologies if that is not cool to say, but it is what I thought.)

I still find it extremely hard to believe she left of her own volition with nothing for herself or the baby. That makes zero sense. Possible? Sure, but IMHO very unlikely. I am curious why they would have the presser and give virtually no new information. I am hoping they have some, just keeping it close to the vest until they have more definitive answers.

I also thought the detective sounded like he was fighting back emotion, like he “knows” they are deceased and is very upset.
Why would he say there is no reason for him to believe H&M were harmed if that’s what he thought

Thinking about a kidnapper is a struggle.
B/c everyone knows what tiny babies are like. They're noisy little sweeties who cannot be told to "shhh, quiet."
They cry for hunger and warmth and snuggles.
How would an abductor keep them from being found out ?

Still think they were fighting, he may have called her at noon and because she didn't answer thought she was really pissed off and was leaving her alone. No telling what a roller coaster ride her hormones may have been on. I haven't had kids but some of my friends have said that the ppd is worse with a girl than a boy for some reason. I had one friends husband realize what she was going through at the time - she was in such a state she didn't. I know this is a bit off topic but I think there's something else going on with the couple that we don't know about. JMO
That may very well be the case. I wish I could explain why I have a case of victim friendly benefit of the doubt.

Or maybe I'm just thinking of the 90s when a couple of parents were convicted

Typically a lie is partly true. I found it odd the SC mentioned he was searching dumpsters. Like he needed a reason if anyone saw him at the dumpsters.
Yes and one child was expected to be at school. I would make everything appear normal and then rush to pack and run when no one was home to stop me. Maybe the part where she threw everything to survive on in the car and dashed back to school to retrieve her son was interrupted.

Sorry I quoted your post randomly dodging the ads.

IMO we know there's 4 top scenarios.

Not to victim bash but my hope is they're in another state believing the elementary school aged child will never be in danger.

I'm as jaded as the next person, but .....
