They're all awful - it's Austin But 35 is a nightmare. I've learned to only take the express lane on Mopac going s/n n/s no matter what time of day. No room now for wrecks now that they took the shoulders

I usually have my scanner on and the number of wrecks, debris on road and incidents on Mopac are staggering. I often hear the sirens as I am listening to the calls made to and from the officers who are responsible for the sirens as they drive by the road next to our building.

I have watched it several times, trying to keep an open mind that perhaps he's "just nervous" or "upset" or "stoned".

Each time, I shake my head and go "no way....". Unfortunately, as I'd love for her to be found alive and well.

It certainly didn't help that the news reporter was on the phone. Completely ineffective and unprofessional IMO.

I've watched it. I find it very emotional. I understand this is a serious thing to happen, but even if he were to laugh at something- or smile does it automatically make him guilty? That seems crazy to me to jump to this sort of conclusion. From everything we know right now- he is completely innocent and a victim himself.

No, it's not the laughing that makes me think he's capable of such a crime - and it's important to point out that we do not know if he is guilty, and no one is accusing him of a crime.

It's the contradicting answers, lack of accounting for his time, lack of concern, and absolute irresponsibility in looking for her that makes him absolutely look culpable.

The laughing just makes it all the more likely and cold-blooded.

Oh, please. I am not parsing every word. Far from it. That's just flipping weird. I would never in a million years accidentally refer to my newborn as a man or a woman any more than I'd refer to my guinea pig or cats as a man or woman. It's just something people don't do. Accidentally call one of your kids the name of another one of your kids is normal. Asking for help finding your 2 week old woman is not.

Same. He has no trouble talking about himself and answering questions no one asked (snooze button, unicorn moving, etc) but gets very flustered when asked about Heidi. He’s worried about feeling “weird”, “nervous”, “not natural”. Where is his concern for how his wife and VERY young daughter are feeling?

Some of it does seem like anxious laughter, but sometimes he seems pleased with himself. Watch his demeanor in the interview outside the complex when talking about old high school friends getting in touch with him.

Yeah, we found that leaving for her school at 6am was better than at 7 and taking her home, was a nightmare. 4:15 bell meant 4:30 to begin driving home and it was basically sitting still listening and singing to songs. My daughter at least got her rehearsal time in the car for her concerts, shows and contests. Not that she didn't practice at home too. (She majored in Music performance in HS.)

Yes, exactly. Now we know he hits the snooze a time or two, then drinks water first thing (interesting when you have a newborn, but OK...) However we know little details of how he realized his wife was missing and what exactly happened then.

And in the second video SC says he knew something was wrong after he picked up his son so he called police. In the longer video he said he picked up his son, grilled the boy's leftover lunch, called his father, called HB's friends then called police.

I know I keep harping over this but it really bugs me that in one interview he says he called police right away after picking up his son but in another he does a bunch of stuff first.

As soon as he learned no one picked up the boy why wasn't he on the phone with 911? I could understand him calling his dad and maybe HB's friends but that would take all of 5 minutes. So where did the rest of the time go?

I lock my car even the moment I get inside too. LOL

Just a habit I formed after I saw a show about car jackings and how they can run up to your car at a stop light, and drag you out and take your running vehicle. Or carjack you in your own driveway.

What really put me over the edge about locking at all times even when getting inside to drive away, was another show about car wrecks and how it is supposed to help keep the doors shut in an accident and helps to keep you from being ejected from the vehicle if doors are locked in a wreck. Not sure if that was proven but I go with it. LOL

I know pot. I know of no regular users who would get giggly or smiley at a time like that. And I think it would be unlikely for someone to suddenly decide to get super high when their family is missing but not be a regular user.

To me it’s just another leap to explain away his behavior and make it not have a sinister connotation. I saw so much of that on the CW threads. And the Kelsey case. And various other cases.

Anything is possible but I’m just doing my own public analysis of the case. When I start to see an ever-increasing number of excuses for a number of different anomalies it just tells me something about a case.

I think we all have different approaches to a case. Some go by their emotions. Some try to find every way possible to find a reason why the most common outcome doesn’t fit in a given case.

For me I, mostly compare to other cases and focus on norms of human behavior.

I am guilty of calling my youngest son a "little man" especially when we dressed him up in pin striped pants, shirt and bow tie and a tiny golf cap. I always referred to his as a little man, among other pet names. He was such a cutie. Now all grown with hair past his butt...still adore him and all of my 8. I doubt I would refer to him as a "man" for press but "little man" maybe. Calling a newborn a "lady" is a stretch.

What do you think? Possibly he did something, like stop in a bar, hook up with an old girlfriend, take a nap, get stoned with his buddies....jmo. I am honestly tossed about his role if any in this!

for me, when anything got real serious the whole high thing collapsed very quickly. nothing was funny. so it's hard for me to understand how someone can still find any humor in the moment life is crashing in on themselves.

ITA. I remember how close LE (and Cheryl Berreth) played their cards in the Kelsey Berreth case. I think APD are not quite ready to name a POI until they have thoroughly processed evidence such as phone records.
