@MassGuy ohhh I blipped on that! That interview was indoors, and still the beanie!

I mean, yeah, some guys always wear hats, I have a HS friend who loves to post pics of himself on FB and every single one, he has a hat on & people bust on him all the time. He's hiding that his once magnificent head of hair is wisps, though. So maybe ole SC is just hiding early male pattern baldness as an early age, right? ;)

Ha! I know the type. I didn’t even really have a point in the first place, I just enjoy mocking guys who wear beanies indoors.

I’m leaning strongly towards foul play being involved here, either with mom being the intended target in a fight or someone wanting a baby has kidnapped them and they couldn’t get baby without mom. I don’t want either possibility to be true but I find it hard to get my head around why anyone would harm a 2 week old baby, she wouldn’t be considered a witness. Has someone known and trusted harmed Heidi and has her baby safely but is hiding her because they don’t want to lose access in a possible custody battle.. jmo

After Marlen, Savanna and other cases, we know that there is always the possibility someone who wanted a baby has kidnapped them. I know it seems unlikely and terrifying but it has happened before. I just cannot believe that anyone would take a tiny 2 week old with the intentions of hurting her. I hope they are both safe but unless a mental health situation was involved and they are missing by choice then it seems unlikely, so so sad.

There is still no POI named, also no particular person is to be discussed as potential POI, plus as being victim friendly please consider the family of the missing out of sleuthing/discussion.

If you have question or doubt on any post, please hit the report button or adress a mod.

Wow this is a sad and scary case.

Here's my question: If this is foul play (and that's the way I'm leaning), and it was someone known to her and SHE was the target, what would that person do with the baby? It's always possible someone hurt both of them, but if someone just wanted to hurt her, I'm wondering what happened to the newborn. It seems like it would be really hard to hide a newborn. MOO

I think someone known to her wanted to harm both of them. (IMO)

There's always the "possibility" that taking the newborn was the goal and the mother, sadly, murdered and disposed of, rare as that is. That's not my first choice for what happened here. I'm sure we'll know more soon. JMO

Here in NC the public schools offer an after School program in the gym. You have to get your kid by 6pm. Maybe this was why the school called at 6 instead of earlier.

I'm not a pessimist but after this length of time, I suspect the worst. I still hope I'm utterly wrong and they are alive but I think that's wishful thinking. Two scenarios come to mind:

1) Someone killed HB in a fit or severely injured her, perhaps not intending to and was left with a screaming hungry baby. If she was breastfed, trust me, switching them to the bottle isn't easy. You can fill in the rest.
OR
2) Someone killed the baby in a fit or severely injured her, perhaps not intending to, and was left with a raging mother. You can fill in the rest.

I do not know who this person is, yet, so it's all just MOO.

I don't understand why the little boy was at school until 6PM that day. That school should have called police by 4:00 if the child wasn't picked up. Why wait all the way until 6? And if the dad was home at 2PM why he wasn't he suspicious about Heidi's car, the diaper bag, etc being there but her and the baby being gone? I agree with everyone else that there are red flags everywhere.

I'm assuming the school had after school care, as most elementary schools do in urban areas of Texas. They are usually open until 6. School may have called Heidi's cell and gotten no answer, and branched out to secondary carers when no one came for the boy.

I do agree that it's bizarre that the dad waited to call police and didn't check with the school sooner. He had to know that she didn't walk to pick up the boy. Hopefully the apartment has cameras (however, the fact that Heidi's last picture is from the school makes me doubt that). Where I live (SoCal) tons of apartment complexes do not have cameras, even fairly new buildings don't.

Yes it is linked upstream that YMCA handles this.
