The video of the person covering the camera shows it is from "Ring". From their website it looks like this brand of cameras can notify homeowners with live video when motion is detected. So when the person backs up toward the door and covers the camera it could have notified him. Have they stated if he was believed to be home at the time or if the person broke in and perhaps waited for him to arrive?

I've misplaced the link to the ring video  so going by memory here now....

But I'm curious --- did you watch the entire clip...? It's as tho someone either uses a key or (perhaps) enters a code (?) because there are two beeps and then the sound of the door opening?....

At least that's what it sounds like.... :dunno:

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

ETA: here's the link to the ring clip...THANKS Henry :blushing:

Yes, I remember noticing some sounds like a key was being used rather than picking a lock or forcing the door open. New thought- since the last seen location is in his car on a highway, maybe he drove somewhere to meet up with someone. That person could have harmed him, taken his keys, and taken whatever he pleased from the house. Actually this scenario makes the most sense to me, as the perp would know there's no risk in the Ring doorbell alert being seen, cops being called, etc.

Has any info been released about whether the house was robbed? Valuables missing?

Ugh. That video gives me the creeps!

Sure hope there are some good detectives diligently working this case.

I just noticed in namus it says "VEHICLE HAS BEEN FOUND EMPTY". Also the pictures include a fingerprint card from an arrest dated 05-26-2014 that appears to be from Texas. His name is listed as "Nguyen, Hop Van".

That video really gave me the creeps. Whoever covered the camera must have known him, judging by the fact he knew the camera was there... and it sounds like whoever that was knew the code to the apartment? I didn’t hear a key turn but it sounded like a code was entered to open the door, as others have said. There’s something seriously shady here.. screams foul play to me.

This is the first time I have seen it. Possibly someone known by him? Do they know for sure it was him driving.
I keep wondering a past roommate??
Do we know where Hop worked?
