TX TX - Houston, *GRAPHIC*, suicide, Wht/Hsp Male, 13-19, UP87935, found dead in bus, Jan'22

Some new Texas kids added retrospectively to NCMEC since I first looked back in February;

Nery Sis Chen - DLC Jul 2021, from Brownsville TX. 16, 5'0, 110lbs. I swear to god he's only been added recently because I would have brought him up if I'd seen him before! I think he's a pretty good facial match... looking at nose shape, his Cupid's Bow, and his ear shape. Even his hairline is similar, and he has shorter hair (though not as drastically as our UID) on the sides. (bigger photo)

I audibly gasped when I saw the comparison between Nery Sis Chen and the deceased. I really think it's a close enough match to send in. Thank you for your efforts on this, this case has bothered me and I keep returning to the thread hoping he's been identified.

I'm contacting Brownsville PD's FB page to try to find an email address where I can send in those two profiles (would probably be easier than listing a case number or smth over the phone).
@citizen_sleuth I think Fready Ambrocio is also a really good option! I see lots of similarities between the eyebrow shape, cheekbones, nose shape, I think I even see a line across Fready's nasal bridge?, and both have a Widow's peak. AL and TX aren't close by but they aren't far enough for it to be impossible.
Marvin Rosales also looks very similar, but I agree that I'm not convinced, because Marvin's curly hair texture looks genuine (i.e. not a perm), and his picture is good enough that I can identify some moles on his face that aren't seen on the UID (specifically the two moles next to his right nasolabial fold and the one mole slightly off-center on his chin).

@citizen_sleuth If you submit Fready, I'll submit Nery ;)

I just submitted Fready. :) The last time I submitted a match to NamUs it was forwarded to LE for comparison so hopefully that is the case this time as well. Both Fready and Nery look like strong candidates for our John Doe––hopefully he gets his name back soon!

I agree. I get a Central American "vibe".
I would not be surprised if he was a recent arrival. (But probably didn't arrive by himself..haircut, clothes etc)
Haircuts are haircuts and people pick up fads quickly.
He looks 18-20 yo to me. Maybe his family is afraid to come forward. JMO....MOO....

Just noticed NAMUS puts him 13-19...
If under 18, he would probably have friends looking for him.
If over 18, he could slip through the radar.
Bolded: I agree completely.

I was looking closely at the PM photo last night--he hasn't got even a trace of facial hair visible. Since the photo is close enough to show a mole or birthmark at the corner of his mouth, I think even very light whiskers would show.

Which I think means we can eliminate Rene Renteria, who has a noticeable mustache starting to come in. Not sure about any of the others.

Yes, I thought I saw a mole/birthmark too....very vague though and it seems he has what seems to be one pock scar on his forehead too. Would recognizes that always, because my son has exactly the same and at the same spot....This precious boy.....he is so "smooth".....Hoping he will be identified soon. Also I think he is a mixture Hispanic...Asian.

The HCIoFS should contact NCMEC since he's at an eligible age.
Now an NCMEC case!
Have you seen this child? John "Houston" Doe 2022

On January 10, 2022, an unidentified male was found unresponsive in an abandoned bus at 6260 West Park Drive in Houston, Texas. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he expired shortly thereafter. He is described to be 13-19 years old at the time of his death. He had black hair, brown eyes, stood approximately 5’1" tall and weighed around 112 pounds. He had a "star" shaved into the side of his head as a stylistic hairstyle choice. He was found wearing Black "Adidas" athletic pants with white stripes down leg; teal boxer-style underwear; black socks; short white socks with "H-TOWN" written along the top in red, and blue and black high-top sneakers- size 6.5. This digitally reconstructed image of the victim, created by a NCMEC Forensic Artist depicts what he may have looked like in life.

Anyone who may have information about this young man should contact the Harris County Institute for Forensic Sciences (832-927-5000) and reference case number: ML22-0168.

I'm getting in contact w TX PD about Nery Chen, by the way... I received an email asking me to call the detective, and then no one ever picked up and voicemail was full  Hopefully I'll get that sorted out next week and will be able to answer if Nery is still missing/is a potential ID.

Could someone name the current exclusion list for this John Doe? I'm not from the US so I can't see the exclusions by NamUs.
