Did whoever submitted the potential match get confirmation it was received? Is it possible to follow-up?
I'll be shocked if it isn't him, every little feature and freckle match up

Yes, I'm also wondering if that potential match was ever looked into.

I submitted quite some time ago and when I followed up they told me they do not provide any case updates to the general public.

IMO - I do believe this is the correct person, but for some reason they are not able to 'officially' identify him.

I think it's probably that they either can't find any of his family to confirm (if they are living in another country, or are undocumented and don't want to come forward) or when arrested he gave a false name and they can't find his real name. I'm fairly convinced they're the same person.

Photos of his clothing were recently released by NCMEC.

Wasn't he arrested with someone else? Wouldn't we be able to find that person?

I believe it was 2 other people he was arrested with. If they were family members and/or IF they are illegal they may not come forward or be easy to find MOO

Undoubtedly unequivocal, the guy in the mugshot and the autopsy photo both have a crater on their forehead; both of their eyes exhibit a consistent palpebral fissure tilt & with one eye slightly higher than the other. Their noses are the same, matching eyebrow tilt, lips of the same size, and a general facial resemblance.

Do authorities no longer fingerprint persons during their arrest? The Galveston mugshot of Alejandro has a Dec 2021 date, and we know the John Doe was found in an abandoned bus in January 2022, and soon after pronounced dead at a Houston hospital.

I was shocked to learn how quickly the JD was buried, but was told they retain fingerprints and DNA from the unidentified decedents before the interment. Nonetheless, there are several posts on the FB page stating Alejandro has been eliminated as a match.

Thinking of this doe. His case bothers me so much - the post mortem is so recognizable someone is missing him.

I think about him everyday...

Did we get any word on the potential match?

They look nearly identical, but that's not always how things work...

Hi all.
You all mentioned a FB page, I guess where his case is featured. Can you share it here? I went back a few pages in the thread and couldn't find it. Thanks.

See post #565 -- it's "Help ID ME" (Facebook).

Dead ends on both of the guys. Pretty much dead end on this Alejandro. Someone in another state with "same name", and age, but keep in mind this name is so darn common there are probably thousands of them with the same name and age. He might as well be "John Smith"

The guy in the other state is listed as black. He paid a fine in 2022.

"Same name" - Spanish names are weird. His name could actually be Martinez....

Based on the other two guys names, pretty sure they were from the US or had been living here a long time. Only Alejandro lists two last names, which could indicate someone who is not from the US, but it doesn't always. Nevertheless, I could not find anything on them, however one guy's name is so common, I wouldn't consider any search results for him to be reliable.

There is a guy with the same name and age as the older fellow in another part of Texas. However, he spells his name somewhat differently. I have no idea if it is him. Was there a typo in the Galveston arrest? Who knows?

I have been off websleuths for a while but came to check on this and happy to see some posts. I did do some sleuthing on the people he was thought to have been arrested with but there wasn’t enough info. I also did a trawl through other online sources but didn’t find anything conclusive.
