Unfortunately they have decided not to do the approximation of smurfettes side profile, if anyone was still wondering.

Hoping someone else can come up with a PM. I am stuck, keep running into the same stories I've read a million times already!

Anyone working on the FB for smurfette??

Who are you smurfette??

I started some preliminary work -- like figuring out that it's important to have the critical information including the approximation where it's always visible first -- but I haven't started anything and won't be able to for a while. So if somebody else wants to run with it, please, be my guest.

Ok going against the grain again for a minute.

Tina Ann Velasco _ over the age, as she's in her late 30s

Missing from Harris county, hasn't been seen since 2011

"MP lived in Houston, Texas but did not live with family. She may have been homeless. She called her mother approximately every month and on holidays. She has not contacted her mother since mid-January 2011."

She appears to have highlights in the bottom of her hair in the missing photo, and on the second photo below, appears to reddish.

Very short at 4'9

No Dna on namus but there are Dentals.

Good afternoon to all my sleuthers!!

We need to try to stick the age range given and do some deeper digging on google, I have found a few that I have never come across before(all of which have been found safe) but I just try to change up my keywords and find information I hadn't come across before.

Also lately I have seen quite a few visitors on this thread, I encourage you all to join the conversation!!! If the visitors feel like they may recognize the sketch I encourage you to join the conversation!!! If the visitors believe they may have viable information about this case I encourage you to contact the HCSO where you may remain anonymous.

Visitors that just have an interest in these types of cases, like myself, I encourage you to join the conversation, you could hold the key to the answers we have been looking for.

Oh dear smurfette, who are you??

Good find. She is way over the age estimate but she fits perfectly in every other way, and I must admit that comparing her hair to Smurfette's gave me chills.

Dentals available on both, and they are both from the same county, so surely a comparison could be made quickly.

The location of this woman's tattoos may rule her out. Smurfette has no tattoos. She gave me a chill also.......... Lyssav, is the hairline in the sketch accurate? It goes straight across. HMMMMM.....

Although she fits the description almost perfectly. I can guarantee you Dr. Derrick would rule her out without looking at dentals, she is too old to be smurfette. She is very confident about the age range given

Her tattoos wouldn't rule her out. I am under the impression the only fleshy areas left were the hip/lower abdomen(pubic area) most "hip" tattoos girls get are very close to the panty line area.. If that makes sense? Lol

But her age most definitely rules her out.

Is it for sure positive that Smurfette never had a child? I found a possible match but she went missing with her infant son (kidnapped by kid's father).

They cannot tell whether or not she has birthed a child. It's possible. Makes me think of Morgan Martin, what happens to all of these pregnant teens that go missing never to be seen again? I've heard of snatching babies out of the womb, sick to imagine that could be what is happening to teen mothers and their unborn children. And the ones that go missing with a young baby, all people care about is making money, wouldn't be hard to snatch and sell a child from a "runaway" : (

CA CA - NonFamily Abduction: Betsy (13) & Jose (4 months) Araque - Alpaugh - 20-Jan-2012 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

Betsy Araque and infant were allegedly abducted by Jose Ayala on January 20, 2012, in Alpaugh, California. A felony warrant for Kidnapping was issued for Jose on January 25, 2012. They may have traveled to Mexico.

She was 5'4" and 90 lbs, 13 years old. Her hair in the photo shows red ends -- it's not curly but looks ironed to me so no way to tell.

Isn't this a brand new issued alert? I think so? Her teeth are interesting to me big time, I remember Lyssav pointing me in the direction of someones teeth, that I have saved and look at. (during this post, her name is alluding me).I'll have to pull her back up and look again. However, I remember thinking to myself that it looked like her teeth were slightly inward. It just may have been my perception!. IMO only, I do think there are some cases where you could be loose with the date. Others, not so much. Like when they come up missing off the bus. That's a validated circumstance. But, If it's a case where, mom said she was living with a friend, and always called home, but hasn't since (date here). Then it's kind of going by memory. I wonder what else about her we can find out?

Oh dear smurfette, who are you??

Also, I've noticed most of the possible girls posted have been Hispanic. It was my understanding that Smurfette is mixed - black & white?

Just want to confirm so we know who to look for.

Wasn't there a new sketch released? I can't seem to find the link or post with the sketch posted. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

  • #816
If you give me one second I will find it for you :)

This is my first time posting a photo, I hope the size is alright, I copied it from a previous post.

I just seen this post now, your right! Dr. Derrick very, very strongly feels that she is mixed. Lyssav, do you think it would be possible to do one updated post, with some information, and refrences to the official rule outs, time lines, the details about possible medical, and pictures of the previous girls that Dr. Derrick suggested what we should be looking for, such as their face shape, and the one whose teeth she said we should keep in mind? I know there are updates through out posts, but maybe to have them all in one would be good?

We have basically run out of any biracial PMs, there is no one left to compare. Her second approximation makes her look extremely white, however Dr. Derrick says there are certain facial measurements that point to her being mixed - black and white. A lot here feel like her first approximation makes her look Hispanic. However, Dr. Derrick is almost certain that smurfette is not Hispanic. She is very confident with her findings and believes her to be biracial.
She has completely ruled out Asian/pacific islander as being possible as smurfettes race - there was no finding of any Asian/pacific islander morphology during her examination of the remains.

Speaking of which, I also have a question. I remember hair extensions being discussed, was it determined for a fact she had these?
