Family members left in the dark for days discovered a married couple and their 5-year-old child dead in an apparent murder-suicide Friday afternoon.

Relatives of a 36-year-old man and 37-year-old woman had tried to contact the small family earlier this week to no avail, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. Worried, the relatives went by the apartment where the family lived, tucked away in the 21000 block of Inverness Forest off the Hardy Toll Road.

When they showed up around noon, they noticed the family's cars were in the parking lot, but no one was answering the door when they knocked, Gonzalez said. Those relatives went to the nearby leasing office and explained the situation, enlisting the help of someone able to open the door.

Gonzalez says a firearm was found near the man's body, indicating to detectives that he might have been the aggressor. Investigators say the man had not shown up for work on Friday, but it was not immediately clear if he had been at his job earlier in the week.

These kind of cases rips my heart out.

Another poor baby who never had a chance to bloom.

If these type of offenders want to commit suicide sadly that is their choice to make. BUT whether it is a male or a female offender they have absolutley no right to make choices to murder anyone else, much less their own families.

This is happening way too often.

Over 25K men commit suicide every year, with the vast majority of them killing only themselves.

Somehow, someway, we must find out the reasons why suicides are happening in such alarming numbers each year, instead of them just being statistics only after the fact.

Fgs, that number per year is more than many town's population.

We as a society must find out the root causes for if they are saved .... then more innocent lives will be saved if their suicide becomes murder/suicides.

My prayers are with all of the family who's lost their precious love one, and her 5 year old beautiful child.

I can't even begin to comprehend the pain, and suffering he has caused them all, and no doubt his own family as well.
