Sydney Marquez graduated from Texas A&M in 2023.
HOUSTON, Texas (KBTX) - Houston police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 24-year-old woman, last seen earlier this month, who has ties to Aggieland.
According to the Houston Police Department Missing Persons Unit, Sydney Marquez, 24, was last seen on Dec. 11, 2025, in the 9100 block of Bellaire Boulevard. Authorities say Marquez suffers from a mental illness, raising concerns for her safety.
Police describe Marquez as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. She is Hispanic. At the time she was last seen, Marquez was wearing a gray hoodie, beige shirt, gray pants, and white tennis shoes, according to a missing person bulletin.
Her former roommate, Kate Girvin, tells KBTX that Sydney graduated from Texas A&M in 2023.
Grizzy’s Hood News in Houston has been in touch with Sydney’s family and says she traveled from El Paso to Houston to meet a friend, but since disappeared. She reportedly left behind her phones, clothing, and makeup, and her vehicle was found abandoned in the Chinatown/Bellaire area of Houston.
Anyone with information about Marquez’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Houston Police Department at 713-884-3131 or the Houston Police Missing Persons Unit at 832-394-1840.
