So DYNERGY is an electric utility company in Houston Texas he could have picked that bracelet up when he went in to pay a bill. Also I did find an obituary for a Howard Mead but his obituary did not say he was a third, he was born in Houston Texas in 1944 and he passed away on January 21, 2020 in Brenham. That may or may not be the same man he was 75 years old. I would love to know what that check was written for, that's a large amount of money.

Good find, but probably not that Howard Mead https://www.cityofbrenham.org/Departments/Police/Informant/2020-02-informant.pdf

So yeah - to whom was the check issued? Was it stolen? So many questions about the check! And the uniform pants look like they could have been tracked to an employer. Williams is a pretty common surname but with all of those numbers on the tag, they could have matched it if they belonged to the original guy, don't you think?

I wonder where in the Bayou/in what part of the city he was found. The map looks like it links to City Hall Downtown. And when he was seen "in the bayou" what was he doing? Like hanging out along the side or swimming (ick)? I have no answers - only lots more questions!

I found an address and phone number for the company the pants came from as well as an address and phone number for a Howard Mead III in Houston TX. Wonder what the chances are I would be able to get any information from either of those if I made a phone call? It looks like the uniform company sells these uniform pants so he could have bought them just to wear to work in so there might not be any information there. I figure LE has probably already exhausted that avenue but I could be wrong.

@Dylansmom08 That's awesome! I'd say go for it! They found this guy back in 2002 so it certainly can't hurt to dig around a little bit. Fingers crossed!

No luck the phone number for Howard Mead III has been disconnected and I got no answer at the uniform place. I will keep digging and try again tomorrow to come up with something else.

Kinda crazy with the check - amount and issuer was visible; people/companies keep records that indicate who they issue checks to and for what purpose. That's a pretty specific amount (and large too!) - one would think some type of ledger somewhere would contain details that might help assist in this case in they were able find origin.
