I didn’t see a thread and I’m not sure if this should be in news or missing. This is about 100 miles south of me, we got rain last night but not to this extent. Not sure how many missing there will be. Guadalupe river rose dramatically last night, I’ve read 25-30 feet.
At the all-girls Camp Mystic, located in Hunt – about 17 miles from Kerrville – staff notified parents that all campers at Cypress Lake and Senior Hill are accounted for, adding that those whose daughters are "not accounted for" have been notified.

This is horrifying.
This is also a very “fancy” camp among wealthy Texans generationally.
Parents literally put their daughters on the list for Camp Mystic when they are born so that they will get a spot. It’s one of the couple of girls camps in Texas that requires recommendations and good credentials and a deposit which doesn’t guarantee a spot.
I can’t even imagine the terror of these little girls and their families.
Praying they are all located safe and sound.

“The mother of Eloise Peck told KSAT that Eloise and fellow camper, Lila Bonner, have not been located as of 2 p.m. Friday. She said she didn’t have any information on the whereabouts of her daughter.”

This is not far from me. My local news has ran this story the entire day without commercial breaks. My heart is so heavy for everyone impacted by this historic flooding event. Thank you to the OP for starting the thread.

Young girls at a Christian summer camp are missing after their cabins were apparently washed away by “catastrophic” and fatal flooding in Texas, according to a report.

Further flooding is expected tonight at Spring Branch

Over 20 out of more than 750 girls attending a summer camp are unaccounted for amid significant flooding in Central Texas, Acting Gov. Dan Patrick said Friday afternoon.

Camp Mystic, a private Christian summer camp for girls in Hunt, had to be evacuated overnight after “catastrophic” flooding along the Guadalupe River.

I hope these girls are all stuck up in trees somewhere and haven't been seen from the air. What a nightmare for the families.

Campgrounds along the river were full with 4th of July campers.

Another missing little girl named
Kellyanne Lytal is unaccounted for. She was at Camp Mystic. Keep her family in your thoughts.
Here's what we know about the missing: Several families, children missing after devastating flooding hits Central Texas
More missing from above KHOU article

"We have sustained catastrophic level floods," Camp Mystic wrote to parents in a message obtained by Chron on Friday. "We have no power, water, or wifi [sic]. All Cypress Lake campers are accounted for. All campers on senior hill are account for. If your daughter is not accounted for you have been notified. If you have not been personally contacted then your daughter is accounted for.

:(

"At least 13 people have been killed
and hundreds more are feared missing
after historic floods inundated a Texas county.

Twenty three people are missing from Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas,
after the Guadalupe River flooded and surged by up to 30 feet above its usual water level Friday."

IMO
Camps situated along/near rivers are safety hazard.

Thinking of all victims :(

When was the severe threat known, and when were camps evacuated? As well as homes and RV parks, when were they warned? A new system of warnings may be needed. A dam system may be needed, of earthen dams, as we have near Las Cruces, NM. Such a terrible tragedy, children and folks just trying to enjoy a pretty area.
