TX TX-Hunt, Overnight flooding at Camp Mystic, all girls camp. Unknown number of missing. July 4, 2025

Hey, fellow neurodivergent on summer break from work(after school care). Would you like some help?

Thank you, any help would be welcome.

If you want to trawl the media for more names that haven't been listed, feel free. Just be cautious, there was at least one missing who was misidentified early and announced as being found but it was retracted and he was actually still missing last I checked, and some media sites have a victims list that is actually a mix of missing and deceased all mixed up together. This list is just for those who we KNOW are dead, who have been confirmed by officials or family/friends.

If you find a name, you need to have a MSM link to support it. Social media isn't enough, unless it's something like a mainstream media or LE account. There are plenty of names floating around social media right now and it's very easy for a rumour about someone's status to morph and change from missing to dead with a few reposts. We don't want to add to that muddle, not when it's about people's lives.

MOO

I can understand the need for it to be alphabetised, but the links need to be maintained. I saved the code from the list I compiled last night. I'll sort it alphabetically, then I'll work at adding the new names you folks have found while I was sleeping. Just give me an hour or so for my ritalin to kick in so that I don't make a complete mess of it. <3

So the only estimates for the missing ... would be if families know their loved ones were camping in that general area, and can't get a hold of them ? 😢
Remember Hurricane Katrina?

After August 2010, no state or federal agency was actively tracking the missing or unidentified dead from Katrina. Many people remain missing to this day, and there is no exact count of victims who died in Hurricane Katrina. Unknown :(

Many Katrina victims have never been identified.

Can you imagine if maybe you aren't close with immediate family or even co-workers? Maybe no one knew your weekend plans. But then you don't show up at work or your child is suddenly absent from child care?

Jeff Ramsey, 61, an insurance salesman from Lewisville, is still missing after the deadly 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 struck his Airstream camper at the HTR RV Park in Kerrville, where he was staying with his wife, Tanya, 46, and the couple’s whippet dog, Chloe.
(…)
“He called me once he realized there was no hope. It was a short voicemail. He just left me a voicemail. He said, ‘Buddy. I love you so much. It doesn’t look like we are going to make it. Tell Rachey I love her,'” Jake recalled, noting how unusual it was to hear his father sounding fearful.

The sound of rushing water could be heard in the voicemail left for his sister a few minutes later as his step-mom screamed in the background, “We’re dying, we’re dying!”
(…)
Rescuers later found Tanya’s body, identifying her by her distinctive tattoos. A breast cancer survivor, Tanya worked as a manager at a wig shop in Dallas.

Miraculously, the family found the pup Chloe at a local animal shelter because she had been microchipped.

I was still in the edit window for my post, so I've added Tanya to the list. <3

Randy Schaffer, a criminal defense attorney in Houston, said his wife, Mollie, was unfortunately one of the dozens killed in the flash flood along the Guadalupe River in Hunt and surrounding areas on Friday morning.
(..)
“Mollie died in a manner consistent with how she lived—selflessly taking care of someone else before she took care of herself. She wouldn’t leave the car until she was sure that I had done so. She saved my life. It wasn’t my day to die. I wish that it hadn’t been her’s," Randy wrote.

@iamshadow21

I've added Mollie.

I just found a handful of new names at this ABC link. I'm looking for other sources, though, because there are some inaccuracies in the article. If anyone has other MSM sources for the four names in this article who are not yet on the list, could you post them? Thanks.

EDIT: I found a legit/solid source for Tim, but not the other three.

I hope this is an approved site. The article has a lot of good information in it.

"Some of the cabins campers were staying in are located in the Guadalupe River’s “regulatory floodways” – the areas that flood first and are most dangerous – according to federal flood maps. Other cabins are located in an area that the federal government has determined has a 1% chance of flooding each year.

But the Texas regulations for youth camps don’t say anything about flood zones, and the state records don’t show the annual inspections of Camp Mystic taking that into account."

It's basically a rehosted version of a CNN article. I don't understand exactly why this arrangement exists, I guess it's similar to Apple News?

That's the 'actual' article which includes a graphic showing the placement of cabins and other buildings at Camp Mystic.

From the article -

The state inspector who visited Camp Mystic last week reported that it was complying with those requirements, confirming that a written emergency plan had been posted at the camp and staff and volunteers were made aware of it. The inspector also found that none of the camp’s buildings or structures presented a safety hazard, all buildings complied with applicable building and safety codes, and all permanent structures were in “good repair.”

The camp passed the inspection with “no deficiency/violation,” according to the records.

they were made aware of the written emergency plan but did they actually read, understand, and practice it?

and did it include instructions for what to do in case of a flood?

and did the inspector investigate those questions?

Just a little error, if it helps - those first two names are reversed alphabetically. :) Thank you so much for doing this!

Arg, I thought I caught all those. I'll correct the master list, they'll be in the right order when I post it next later tonight. Thank you!

Okay, here's the latest. I found sources for the four names in the ABC article with some help from @BayouBelle_LA . Two I had to dig into Facebook to find posts by immediate family, that took a bit longer. But Tim, Brad, Rob and Amber are all on the list now, with a handful of others that I found along the way.

If you've found a name I haven't, please post it to the thread (with a link to the source) and I'll check it out and add it to the list in my post tomorrow morning.

I'm honestly shocked they've found so many, so fast. It's got to be extremely difficult searching amongst all the rocks, brush, and debris. Let alone the snakes and the fire ants. Bless them all ♥️
