Deputies say he admitted to killing the teen he only knew by the name of "Cheryl" that he picked up in Durham in 1981.
He led them to her body in October of that year in Iola, Texas.

Auburn can come in a red-brown color. Maybe she became transient and lost 30 pounds between 1973 and 1976. The weight for Jane Doe is probably just an estimate anyway.

Thanks - this used to be my specialty before all the matches were made by genealogy DNA. (which I am glad that so many UID's are getting their names back. So many of my "pet cases" have been solved over the last 3 years that I would never think would be solved. A lot of them were never reported missing.

I am not buying she was only 4'0. Sorry. I think it could be a misprint. I have been doing this for a long time an have seen misprints and reporting of heights wrong many times, so I am taking someone saying a 12 years old being 4 foot tall with a grain of salt.
