I'm kind of nervous that the FBI is involved and now there are sexual assault charges. That means this situation is turning out to be a whole lot worse than I'm betting JW expected. I really hope that this pressures him into releasing her as opposed to hurting her and trying to run by himself.

I have many questions with this one and in researching have not been able to answer any of them.
Does JW work ?
Does he have a cell phone ?
Does he or did he have large number of cash ?
I am thinking the family must know some of this.
I just don't understand what their plan was, I'm sure HW didn't have one but JW being 33 knows that it takes money to survive. Did they have some fairy tale to run away and everything would fall into place.
He would get a job, her go to school, get a house, pay bills.
Just don't understand the thoughts going on here.

I DID have an actively involved single father in my life, and when I was 16 I was dating a 28 year old. Mind you, I lived in my own apartment and paid my own bills- so I was old for my age.

He was cute though, not old and fatherly looking at all. He looked like AC Slater in saved by the bell, but with shorter hair. He seemed younger too, he was a college student and single- no baggage. It didn't seem weird at ALL to me at the time. In fact, he is still "young like," still a bachelor- Now he would feel way too young for me even though he's 12 years my senior.

But he wasn't a father, you know? It was totally different when a dad I babysat for would hit on me or something- it was GROSS and weird then. I don't know why the distinction.

I am going to theorize that girls who look a lot older, tend to get more attention from older guys than younger guys. If you're wanting attention for whatever reason, you take it where it is plentiful- and older guys are more "assertive" than younger guys with their affection. Sometimes it being readily available and generously doled out makes it easier to get caught up in I guess.

And some girls enjoy the power element of their blossoming sexuality, as a previous poster pointed out up thread a few posts... for sure. I definitely enjoyed the power element of my sexuality more than I should have as a teenager.

Heck, at 14 I wasn't even aware of what sexuality meant. All I knew was that if he was an 'older' guy, he wasn't supposed to be flirting with a young girl like me. Yeah, I did have a few times when something scared me or made me uncomfortable. And to this day, I still find it creepy that a man in his 30's or older is interested in a young girl. Or a woman interested in a young boy, for that matter. It's just wrong.
I wouldn't have known at that age what feeling the 'power' was all about, maybe I was just too protected growing up, but sex is not a game to me.
