I have to wonder why the suspects would cross into Mexico and into a part of Mexico where there doesn't seem to be anything there. I get that they want to be as unnoticed as possible. But for them personally, I wonder if they are familiar with Mexico and feel safe there. Or did they just run there to get out of the US? Would it be possible for them to travel across Mexico and continue south into Central America? Border crossings would be in the southern end of Mexico as well, so I don't no if they could cross so easily. All MOO.

Opinion - The woman may be Hispanic( first impression, also possibly pregnant). I wonder if they are headed toward family of her's, below the Border ?.....This case just gets more interesting.....moo

It raises the possibility that the flight to Mexico was impulsive and that the perpetrators do not have any family connections in Mexico. It also reduces the odds that they are Mexican citizens who could benefit from very strong laws governing the extradition of citizens.

likewise, it increases the chances that they are going to not only stand out physically in most parts of Mexico (really all parts, but some parts significantly more than others), and also increases the odds of language and culture difficulties.

Then factor in that Mexico is not as cheap living wise as impulsive fugitives may think (perpetual beach cabanas and Pina Coladas take some real money) and that budget “boondocking” in Mexico is a good way to meet their Mexican equivalents with the tables turned.

The end result, is that they may realize both that Mexico is a big country, but they have no place to go….. .

I cant see the photos, but "maybe Hispanic" could point towards a Texas 'Tejana'.

Tejanos are multigenerational and some cases, multi century Americans. They are highly unlikely to have identifiable Mexican relatives and Spanish language ability can vary from generally fluent in a few to "very broken" in many to "non existent" in a good number.

In short, she is probably going to have near the same trouble adapting to Mexico as her anglo friend.

My husband and I camped on the beach plenty of times in California. There is nothing like the sound of the waves rolling as you fall asleep. It’s wonderful. Getting up to sunshine and making breakfast, taking leftovers around to other campers and visiting. Going back to camp, sitting in a chair and watching the waves rolling in and out along the shore, watching children laughing with glee as the waves break around them.

That’s all these people wanted, was a beautiful setting, feeling a freedom you cannot get tied down to one spot and meeting all kinds of interesting characters.

Thanks for posting the photo. FWIW, one of the cans in the cupholder seems pretty distinct, with what appears to be a red top. It reminds me of energy drinks, similar to this one (e.g., Rockstar Punched) I wonder if a purchase like that could help investigators narrow in on any store locations perps may have stopped at, based on a sale of an item like that during a certain window of time. I'd imagine not all stores would have a product like this stocked in inventory. I hope these two are both caught very quickly!

I was wondering if this section of beach was frequented by people who embrace this culture and maybe they are one with the beach, so to speak. If so, were the Butlers of that mindset? Or did they happen upon this section of the beach coincidentally. It might not make any difference one way or the other. I was mostly curious why it's called Burner Beach and how the Butlers happened to be there.

West Texas seems to be different than north Texas and especially east Texas. Multi generational Tejanos here ( as opposed to say, first generation Mexican descent) have about as much in common with Mexico as I do with well, France.

Hmmm. From googling and finding this video, it seems it is related to burner culture. I can see the driver/perp fitting in with his tattoos and ear gauges (however he obviously doesn't fit in at all given he's likely a murderous douchebag). Somebody there knows him IMO.

Look up Burners Without Borders. They were posted near the bowl all the time. They did huge clean-ups and burns and postponed their most recent one because of this. I've never heard that area called Burners Beach so I can only assume it's because of them. Lots of naked, free-thinkers. They're a little "different" but are good environmental partners.

ETA: a burner, at least the BWBs, would most likely never be the type to murder
