Are we safe on here? Like do you think we are hidden ? Can anyone detect who we are from posting here?

Did she dye her hair and wash her face after the murders to create a disguise?
@otto, Haha!

Think we have a classic case of "Dumb and Dumber" here!

Not sure dying your hair platinum blond in Mexico is a good way to hide from LE or anyone local for that matter!
MOO

I am of the opinion when people go to the efforts they do to look that extreme, they want you to judge them by their looks.

Wow, the mug shot of her sure doesn't look like the picture from FB.
I saw that photo originally when I searched for her on FB. I didn’t think it was her so I never referenced it.

Ok, when i looked it up it mentioned like cable theft or something. Stealing a service as opposed to an item so I was confused.
Theft of services can be almost anything from ditching a dinner tab to not paying for towing a truck and a decrepit RV. I think I agree with others who posted that the charges as they stand now are going to be increased because of problems with extradition out of Mexico.

Were they charged with lesser crimes to avoid the extradition issues that come with a murder charge?

That is what I understand. Mexico is uncooperative when it comes to extradition if capital punishment is on the table.

There's a lot of discussion about the male suspect and his criminal history, his appearance, and his connection to the murders. Obviously if she was with him at the time of the murders and fled with him to Mexico, she is also guilty of the murders.

What has not been said is that perhaps she wanted a nicer vehicle, she murdered the victims, she stole the vehicles and perhaps he was forced to flee to Mexico with her. I would like to see some equality where anything said about him is also said about her. Being female should not include the consideration that the unfortunate, vulnerable adult female with child might have been a victim when committing two murders and fleeing the country.
I don’t see this guy as needing to be forced into doing anything. Their camper has been described as dilapidated and in poor shape.

I hope this isn't a situation where a woman with a child is determined to be less culpable because she is female or has given birth. Women want equality in all things, and criminal prosecutions should generously recognize that she is equally responsible for the murders and theft.

Texas wouldn’t care if you gave birth yesterday. It isn’t a mitigating factor at all.

I'd say yes to your "are we safe question" and no to being "detected." Pretty sure admin takes our personal identities seriously.

Not sure why you're asking? Are you worried about something?

ETA You don't have to answer my questions, of course, especially if you are worried about something. I wasn't meaning to pry.

I agree, although since the truck/trailer went into Mexico, I would bet the driver is not a US citizen. What strikes me as so odd here is the location on the north tip of Padre. Not even close to the Mexican border. I can't figure this one out at all.

This site shows crime stats in the area higher than average, although not complete data for the island: Mustang-Padre Island, TX Crime Rates & Crime Map

We used to go there a lot before the last big hurricane (but haven't been since) and always felt pretty safe. I wonder if the hurricane changed things for the worse? Any locals on here can speak to that?

Plenty of American citizens go to Mexico in truck RV trailer combinations. There are also companies that specialize in convoy type of accompanied transportation

I believe WS protects our info. I've never had a bad experience (knock on wood)... But, I'm not sure anyone cares who I am.

has there ever been any news about the cats?

Were the cats microchipped? I bet they were. That would sure help if someone finds a lost cat or two or three.

I did read that they were. And that shelters and rescue groups and vets in the area were put on notice. Poor little kitties. Makes me so sad they were part of this total disruption of life. I feel such sorrow for Michelle and James and this whole horrible pointless crime. :(

Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office officials said they are investigating scores of leads in the case. District Attorney John Hubert said Tuesday that they are still unraveling Williams’s role in what happened.

“We’re getting so many leads and so many different avenues that we have to track down and go through that we haven’t actually completed with all the evidence that we have on hand at this time,” he said. “So I hesitate to say that this is all — that this is what we’re charging him.”

Williams is being held on $1 million bond, according to sheriff's office records.

DA John Hubert is a superb prosecutor and a humble man who feels great compassion for and responsibility to the victims he represents. What happened to the Butlers is truly horrific but John Hubert will ensure that justice is delivered, and in a professional, thorough manner.

On a side note, Hubert is handsome, gracious and wears a cowboy hat everyday. He represents the best of South Texas.
