I wonder if DL will be offered anything in exchange for testifying against his High School sweetheart?

I'm leaning towards no. It looks as if there is plenty of evidence to convict Mrs. F as things stand. But surely, DL will be a prosecution witness?

One has to ask if DL deserves anything? Although he may have been a victim of Mrs. F, he still pulled the trigger.

Perhaps his defense is asking for the death penalty off the table for his full cooperation?

Agreed. IMO, he deserves nothing and may get exactly that, as the evidence appears quite strong. (I'm sure his legal counsel would disagree with us.)

It will be interesting to see how both trials play out considering these two morons were co-conspirators.

If he testifies against JF, I think it's possible they may take the DP off the table.
Even though she didn't pull the trigger, as far as I'm concerned she's evil and much worse than he is. She used a lot of cunning to manipulate him and played him like a fiddle.

According to the criminal complaint, Darrin Ruben Lopez was charged Friday with transporting a firearm in interstate commerce with the intent to commit a felony offense.

Lopez is accused of crossing state lines with a .45-caliber handgun in order to kill James Faith, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.

We know the state case will be heard before the federal case so I think you're correct about the gun charges unless DL was in violation of gun possession law. Then again, intent to commit a felony might be defined differently.

For Darin, the last docket entry as of today remains at #8 which was the federal indictment on 3/25/21 and random assignment to U.S. Magistrate Judge Rebecca Rutherford. This federal case will trail his Texas trial so I don't expect any updates on his case until his Tx trial concludes. If there's any update before then, it would probably be related to his cooperation in slamming Mrs. Faith.
