GUILTY TX - James Faith, AA tech director, fatally shot walking his dog, Dallas, 9 Oct 2020 *ARRESTS/wife*

It feels like we are all a bit frustrated that nothing has happened but I read of a local cold case from 1976 that an arrest came from today so I’m holding hope that things are in fact happening as we type. I’m thinking sooner than later.

Did they always walk together at this time?

I’ve been thru this thread and the local news sites and it’s as you say, churp churp. I’ve been trying to think of the possibilities for motive and suspect but I’m lost on it. Could it have been a random gang initiation? A desperate addict? I’m just going to keep reading and hope something happens soon.

I quoted you in this post @AzPistonsGirl , don’t know what I done to lose it.

Wondering a bit about why the prep allegedly didn't say a word during the crime. Thoughts:
  • Perhaps he did talk but witness isn't being forthcoming.
  • He didn't say anything for fear his voice would be recognized.
  • Just not a talkative person /too nervous himself to talk.
If it's the first one, then we have a witness connection.

If it's the second one, then he never planned to kill her because otherwise who cares if anyone recognized his voice if they are both dead. Possible witness connection.

If it's the third one it seems like an amateur hit. And an amateur hit seems like it would be someone connected to the victims.

I can't think of other reasons not to talk.

Yes - or at least according to the Go Fund Me write up they did.

I was thinking about the truck again. Another noticeable feature I haven't seen mentioned in the news is the silver decal on left side of the tailgate. It doesn't appear to say "Titan" but it could be the model name. It could be a dealership name too.

I searched out some other pics of these trucks and they have a silver “Titan” logo there. Good observation.

Thanks. You know, I said "model" - but I meant "trim package" Like you, I see it normally has "Titan" there at least for the most current models.

This truck is unique enough that I think if someone I knew owned it, I could recognize it. I may be off, wouldn’t be the first time, but I just feel like that would be the case. Surely somebody could be doing maintenance and cleaning of it somewhere? I guess the perp is a DIY type?

I say this as I used to work part time at a quick lube garage and we knew the vehicle and owners as soon as most of them turned in.

Well, to recognize the truck they ought to be having it on the news every day...

I surely agree but those big city news cycles go fast. I’d hate to try and guess the number of murders that have happened in Dallas since this, I know I’ve seen several as I’ve been browsing the news for updates.

MOD NOTE:
Websleuths’ victim friendly policy remains in place and in effect for this thread at this time. Blatant accusations and thinly-veiled sneers at someone who is considered a victim unless/until LE names them as a suspect or POI will not be tolerated. Thread bans have been and will continue to be issued to those who defy those rules.

Please post according to the TOS we all agreed to when we joined this forum. Thank you to those who are doing just that.

I think OP is suggesting that the witness may not have been truthful. I’m certainly open to that, although I doubt LE could have been fooled.

So I think it’s probable they are searching for the right vehicle.
I think it would have been very dangerous to be untruthful about the truck. What if someone told LE that the shooter stepped out of the truck, and then the truck owner stepped forward, being able to show that they were just passing by and had nothing to do with this? That would be very bad for the witness.

And I agree, LE would probably pick up on any purposeful mistruths. Although it could possibly have been a mistake. But then I would think the truck owner would have stepped forward.

Agreed, if that were an innocent passer by, they would have come forward pretty quick.

Sharing this link in case I'm not the only one who had not seen this article before. Not any earth shattering new information but there is some points I don't recall seeing before.

Trackdown: Help find James Faith's killer

Probably not related but another person in Dallas was shot while on an early morning walk. Different vehicle description. 530am versus 730am.

Man fatally shot in Downtown Dallas

It could still be connected somehow. Lots of people have access to more than 1 vehicle. Plus if that other Itan truck was. involved, the owner probably dumped it already. JMO

the new article about James Faith's murder states it was a male shooter, yet he was allegedly masked and reportedly said nothing.

The new article about the shooting Sunday morning is vague enough for me to think the two could be connected. We had several random shooters here in the Phoenix area within the last 20 years. The "freeway shooter" was never caught, the "Baseline Killer" was apprehended, and in 2005-2006, 2 men worked together to shoot and kill 8 people randomly, and shoot at least 29 others - all random, at bus stops, walking down the road, etc. Randoms do happen...

but, yeah... sometimes not, too.

I’m fully open to that theory since, as you say, random thrill killers are out there. This robbery scenario didn’t seem to occur in the latest one In downtown tho. Let’s hope this will be our week for this to be wrapped.
