I didn’t follow this case. Had to pop in to say you guys nailed it with this one. Love, love, love that this creepy couple followed your thread here, then made incriminating moves and sent texts that eventually made it into evidence.

Awesome sleuthing!

Good grief lady, just get a divorce. Her poor daughter. And obviously her poor husband. :(

Ah, but divorce doesn't get you a life insurance payout.

Or a quick $60K in give me cash. Per the criminal complaint, JF was withdrawing the monies as fast as it was coming in, and pretty much depleted the balance by early December.

And why would the widow of a upper manager in AA need more money anyway?

Divorce means having to divide assets like the home and investments, and losing medical coverage and retirement benefits.

It seems to me, we're seeing quite a few cases where the thought process is "divorce will financially ruin me, murder is a much better deal. Why pay a fortune for something I can get for free, and even make some money out of it?"

Dallas woman who pleaded for leads in husband’s murder now charged, along with ex-boyfriend

USA v Jennifer Faith 42 pg Complaint available at link above.

See document pg 35 for Websleuths honorary mention!

Great find, @Seattle1, Evidently, Jennifer thinks we're stupid.

"Additional text messages recovered from Darrin Lopez’s cell phone relate to
online news articles and internet posts that discussed the James Faith murder
investigation. For example, on December 29, 2020 the following text exchange occurred between Jennifer Faith’s cell phone and Darrin Lopez’s cell phone:

11:18 PM – Jennifer Faith to Darrin Lopez: “Did you read through any of that stupid “Websleuths” thread I sent you”

11:18 PM --- Darrin Lopez to Jennifer Faith: “I should have never read it”

Your Affiant knows that “Websleuths” is an internet community that focuses on
unsolved crimes and missing persons. Registered users discuss information related to the cases and they try to solve them. The thread Jennifer Faith is referencing in the text is a forum that specifically posts about James Faith’s murder."

Hysterical  We are stupid, but she’s the one texting her boyfriend in great detail how to reset their phones, lie to LE, remove evidence from trucks, etc. Shes an idiot!

Well he wasn't as tech savvy as she was. He obviously didn't know how to delete his messages. Sounds like he wasn't up to scratch mentally.

I love that she sent him the WS thread and he was like OMG I wish I didn’t read that! Hahahahaha.

I bet some people who donated are mighty upset!

She must have thought she was on clover with money coming in and life insurance still to come. I wonder if she was going to pay his mortgage off. JMMO

I wonder if she posted.
She texted him 5000 times a day. I bet she didn’t wait long after she sent it to ask him if he had read it.
Since she thinks she’s so clever and thought we were stupid I wouldn’t be surprised if she posted in support of herself.

Fortunately, 🤬🤬🤬 issued a statement that they are offering refunds to anyone that donated. I believe it's part of their operations policy.

James Faith was an Information Technology Director for American Airlines. After his murder, Jennifer made a plea to help find his killer. She was also the recipient of a ******** that accumulated nearly $60,000 in donations; ******** is offering refunds to anyone who donated.

I wonder when her charges are going to be upgraded to murder.

Anyone remember the Rusty Sneiderman case? If texting/technology back then was as advanced as today, his grieving widow would not be living her best life like she is today.

I wonder how that works since she spent the money (rather quickly!).

Well, she’s not too savvy if she didn’t know her texts could be retrieved after resetting/deleting! Her husband would probably be disappointed in her.

JF withdrawing and/or spending the money doesn't affect the refund policy.

Citing that misuse makes up less than one-tenth of one percent of all campaigns on its platform,
they added a refund guarantee to cover situations of campaign misuse to their TOS sometime in 2016.

Being charged with a crime meets the definition of campaign misuse.

The guarantee protects both donors and beneficiaries if the campaign organizer doesn’t deliver funds to the intended recipient.

GoFundMe Launches New Guarantee: Protects Donors With Refund Policy For Campaign Misuse

I've received two refunds from this particular crowd-funding company. Over the last five or six years I've made a dozen or so contributions usually because I read a sad story in the news media.

For example, I recently gave about $20 to a local woman who needed to bury her husband after he was stabbed in a street robbery. Another time I gave to a man who lost his apartment in a fire. These fundraising's were legit.

But two I gave to were not. It took about a year, but I received a refund without asking for it.
